Dd, 8, has asked for a laptop so she can write stories. I nodded enthusiastically until I checked the prices,. Then I was Shock Shock
Does anyone know of any laptops - around £100 - that are good? There are a few ebay sellers seeling ones for @£60. Are these going to be shite?

I'd go for a refurbished one from a "proper" refurb dealer, with a warranty included.

For example, you can get a refurbished dell with a six month warranty here

Yeah, I second Legalalien. Cheap and not crap don't usually go together when it comes to electronics!

Go for something refurbished. It can be worth checking out electrical shops on eBay, and Dell tend to be quite good, and offer a decent warranty for a second hand laptop. The Currys' near me has some good laptop offers at the moment too, as they are in administration, so that could be worth a look. Check any Currys prices online to make sure they are competitive though, and a cheap laptop might not be able to do everything - high end gaming (The Sims 3 etc) are probably out, but most units will be able to word process for story writing.

Hi, I'd suggest you take a look at the following laptops www.mawista.com/blog/en/cheapest-high-quality-laptops-students/

You can write stories on tablets if you want to, by getting an external bluetooth keyboard but there are plenty of cheap laptops that are generally meant to be used for simple tasks. Either way I recommend you get one with at least a dual core processor and 4gb of ram
