leappad/ innotab thingy

DD is only 2, but she is the second one, so we have basically every genre of toy.

I saw that the leappad/ innotab tablet things are reduced to £60 ish.

That's basically my budget for her, but she doesn't need anything.

She likes the ipad and spends a lot of time playing with my phone, and I'd rather she had something less valuable to play with Grin

DH says it's not a good idea as DS will get jealous. DS is 5. I am assuming he will play with it too, they are quite good at sharing ATM. DS is getting the presents he asked for, but not a computery thing.

what do you think? I see it as an 'excuse' to get quite a 'big' thing for both DC to play with that we don't already have. We've got dolls and trainsets and playmobil and bricks and imaginext and Night garden toys and books etc etc etc.

I think it sounds like an awesome idea!

If Dh is so set against it being just Baby Goo's present would he be more agreeable to it being a joint present?

I've bought an innotab for boy1 for Christmas, although he's 10 it's more at his developmental level. I've spent the weekend 'testing' it out and I love it. Some things will be too advanced for him (and for a 2 year old) but some things are perfect and he will love them and BabyGoo will grow into the more complicated stuff.

My DNephew (just turned 3) has just inherited his sister's and he's mastered everything already.

i got my dds the innotab last year as i was sick of them nicking my ipad. they have hardly used them as i think that they are a poor substitute for a tablet. they are aged 3 and 4. i was thinking the same as you as they have every type of toy they want and i though it would be a good present that did not require loads of storage. it was a waste and they still go for the ipad so i have decided that this year they are going to get a tablet. my it guy at work has found one at about £80. i ish i had got it in the first place as the innotab was £70 last year so i feel like i have wasted my money
