I know nothing of boys. But now have 11 yr old step-nephews.

I don't even know if we'll see them over chridtmas but I think a small token present is in order.

What though?

I have an 11yo. He is into anything to do with WWE wrestling. Diary of a wimpy kid or beastquest books. Dvds like spiderman or transformers or any sort of marvel films. Anything to do with scootering he always wants new bits for his scooter. Failing any of that vouchers for itunes or phone credit wouldn't go amiss if they have ipods or payg phones.

I think you need to know from the parents what books / films / dvds they are into if you go that route.

11 yo dS likes nerf guns, hex bugs, science experiements, magic tricks, Alex Rider books, penknives, stuff connected to the football team he supports, money, Guinness Book of Records, big tins of sweets, iPad air hocky and pool games, (you can buy a little box) camping gadgets like [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Light-Fire-Grandpas-Fork-Sweden/dp/B000N3Q2IS/ref=pd_cp_kh_0 this]] which turns any stick into a toasting fork for a campfire, power yoyos, cool guitar picks with Marvel comic designs on, they might like Beano mugs, currently available in Sainsbury's, other 'boy' mugs....

Blu · 26/11/2012 09:55

Sorry toasting fork link

Blu · 26/11/2012 09:57

This was his mpst played with present from last year - and there is a sci fi one, too if you need to buy for twins.

11 in year 6 or 11 in year 7? Can make quite a difference. Beast Quest too young for many 11yo I think.

PropositionJoe · 26/11/2012 10:09

Yes this sound machine are really fun and annoying mine loved them.

CiderwithBuda · 26/11/2012 10:29

My 11 year old hated BeastQuest books and anything similar. Would agree that year 6 11 year olds will be different to year 7 11 year olds.

What about a voucher for WH Smith or Waterstones?

TaggieCampbellBlackFriday · 26/11/2012 10:38

Yr 6 i think.

Good suggestions. Thanks. Maybe that sound thing or hexbugs. Possibly.

I'd go for the sound thing plus some chocolate. Or the smallest Nerf guns, the ones that only take one bullet (jolt?)

mercibucket · 26/11/2012 21:17

Nerf gun (unless parents are the liberal hippy types, or possibly definitely if ..)

I'm a liberal hippy type. I don't do guns. Give me baaad vibes.

mercibucket · 26/11/2012 22:13

Lol no to nerf guns then. Debenhams have these cool deadly 60 spiders that climb walls - creepy crawlies ok?
