mgp or grit scooter?

for a 5yr & 6.5yr
i was going to order a mgp one each but then i saw the grit ones, any feedback would be great

Sorry, can't really help as I am clueless - reading up on them now, as getting DS 6yo one for Christmas.

So far, I am leaning towards mgp - they are apparently deemed better as more professional, although what difference that makes to a 6yo????

I am looking at grit flux and mgp Pro and both are about 100quid but think I may go for the madd (mgp) one.

What have you heard?

Got dd 10 a gritt fluxx for her birthday and DS 7 a razor stunt one not the cheap foldable one both really good razor seems a better ride but the fluxx looks nicer, the gritt seems a lot heavier too but dd loves it she haes mgp s!!

Tried and tested...always grit for us!

The ones I was looking at are both £79.99. Some reviews are good & some aren't so I'm torn. The MGP ones is something like 4.5kg & from 8+ the grit 4.7kg & from age 5 so there's not much in it. They both look very similar too!
I was going to order a MGP ones but at the last minute I saw the grit. I've been pondering for weeks & just want to decide & order them now.

I phoned up the website I was looking at the ask about mgp or grit - the guy said although the same price, the grit flux is a better, more sturdy scooter.

It has a one piece handle which is better than the two-piece mgp, better grips and other stuff that made no sense to me at all.

I will order the grit flux tonight once the kids are on bed!

Ps the grit flux is from age 8 - ds will be 6 next week but is big and tall and in she 7-8 clothes, the guy said that would be totally fine

My ds who is 8 had a gritt scooter last christmas, he changed it to an mpg in the summer. He loves his scooter and spends hours in the garden going up and down his homemade ramp! The gritt just didn't wear well, it doesn't glide as well as the mpg and Is bulkier, most annoyingly though the gritt rattled when he rode it. Ds best friend has one too which also rattles. Speaking with hindsight I wouldn't have bought the gritt!

It's the grit extremist which I was looking at, not sure if that makes a difference

Our local scooter shop made up the grit scooter to whatever colour our little one wanted and as we bought 2 he said we could have them for £80 each! They could choose the colour of the bars, footplate, clamp, wheels, wheels alloys!

thats really good! sounds like they are good to their customers. i'm buying 2 & would love that as both are picky with the colour but i haven't any scooter shops round here which i know of. is the grit good? does it rattle?

I would try and check for local shops, I didn't know we had one its tiny..but very popular with youngsters!! No they don't rattle at all and the children want to take them everywhere!

Don't know why it didn't occur to me to check for local shops(!) but I did and have just bought DS a Grit scooter. The shop was really helpful and I ended up buying the one above the grit flux, either elite or extreme (can' remember the name). It was the older model, so reduced and only £10 more than the flux. He built it for me there and then - got a royal blue one, very smart.

He said Grits were really hardwearing and can take a serious amount of bashing around. I tell you, this scooter business is a whole other world - grips, bearings, lots of other stuff I didn't understand.....

I'm going to have to get "down with the kids" and learn about it all!!
