If you don't like Christmas pudding, what do you have for dessert?

I am hosting this year, first time in five years as I got very drunk the last time and my mum and mil had to finish dinner.

Nobody likes Xmas pudding, so any other suggestions for an easy dessert? I looked at Nigella's steam chocolate pudding but it seems a bit of a faff. I thought about meringues, how far in advance could I make these?

Choc trifle- Choc Swiss roll on the bottom in slices, tinned cherries and juice ontop, followed by choc blamange/ choc pudding/ or choc custard either, whatever you prefer. And then cream.

I repeat everything so it's doubled up in layers

I love Christmas pudding, but if I didn't I'd do either a gingerbread and pear trifle, or a spiced pear cake with stem ginger, or something orangey.
