Just after advice. Which would be better both are affordable is one easier to load with apps/games/music? Are they both v similar? Iam erring more towards the nexus as from what I have read the kindles do not last too long and nexus have only really had good reviews.

Nexus 7, not got one myself but a couple of friends have and they say they are fantastic....I want one now!!!

mirpuppet · 25/11/2012 15:41

Nexus 7 (and I have Kindle Fire HD -- which was given to me as a gift).

BigBoobiedBertha · 25/11/2012 17:35

I'd go with the Nexus on reviews too. Some say it is the best small tablet. I have been debating the Nexus/Kindle Fire question with DH and I know he would probably say Kindle but only because he has one of the first e-reader basic ones and all his books are stored on the Kindle store.

So my question would be, to anybody who knows, can you down load the Kindle App onto the Nexus - that would would sovled the compatibility issue.

I also can't see anywhere whether either of these tablets support Flashplayer which I know the techies say is obslete but it obviously hasn't filtered through to the games builders as all my favourite games on FB still use it and I am afraid I am too addicted to give them up. Blush

Thanks for that bastard Santa! Thank you to everyone else I think we will go for the nexus. he originally wanted a basic kindle to read but this has escalated as we realised how much more he could do with a kindle fire. Then it went on again as we compared other tablets to the nexus. I would be interested to know if kindle app compatible with nexus too. He loves his music so can use it for that too and obv browse the Internet for research for homework. He will be over the moon!!

Now you've thrown a spanner in the works for me. I was settled on nexus 7. Having seen the galaxy tab2 10.1 with 20% off at Tesco and £50 cashback...now I dunno what to do...

YourCallIsImportant · 25/11/2012 22:24

I'm on the Tesco website and don't see £50 cashback. Where do I find it?

HauntedLittleLunatic · 25/11/2012 22:44

I think the cashback is direct from samasung. I can see it in the 2 line synopsis you get on the google results. When I google Samsung tab cashback I go to the Samsung website but says I need to view the page on a pc (not phone) to see t &c s.

YourCallIsImportant · 25/11/2012 23:09

I found it thanks. How can I find out when the discount ends?

HauntedLittleLunatic · 25/11/2012 23:41

Tesco 20% ends 3/12/12 which is on their website home page rolling offers duffa.

Dunno about cashback. Haven't seen t & c s yet.

YourCallIsImportant · 26/11/2012 00:41

Duffa?

HauntedLittleLunatic · 26/11/2012 09:24

You oofa-doofah...

HauntedLittleLunatic · 26/11/2012 09:25

You *know and oofah- doofah.

I wasn't trying to call you a doofah..

Stepmumm · 26/11/2012 11:58

What is the price if nexus and samsung?

HauntedLittleLunatic · 26/11/2012 12:45

Nexus 7 16gb appears to be available for £160.

Galaxy tab 2 7" 8gb is available for £158 with £30 cashback from Samsung and 1000 clubcard points.

Galaxy tab 2 10" 16gb is available for £238 with £50 caahback and 2000 points.

I think the nexus 7 is the better spec but 7" tab much better price, and 10" tab tempting as it brings price close and is a much better size (i have full size ipads to compare to so the 7" looks tiny)
