Skylanders Giants - AAARRRGHH!! what ARE they!?

My boys would like a Skylanders Giants booster pack for xmas. They have the Spyros adventure and portal of power and quite a lot of the figures for Spyro's adventure. Ive looked on Amazon for Skylanders Giants figures and am confused by the fact that in Skylanders Giants packaging are what looks like the figures that they alreayd have from Spyro's adventures. Are they doing the original characters but now also in Giant size? I don't want to duplicate stuff they already have...

There are only 4 actual bigger Giant figures released so far, these only play on the new game:

• Tree Rex
• Swarm
• Crusher (available as Granite Crusher in Tesco)
• Bounce (available as Legendary Boucer in Toys r us)

There are also some new normal sized figures that only play on the new Giants game.

• Jetvac
• Chill
• Fright Rider
• Shroom
• etc

Some on the Spyros adventure Series 1 figures have been released as series 2 figures. Again normal sized figures. They play on both games. I think they might have slightly different/improved attacks in the Giant game.

• Terrafin
• Slam Bam
• Chop Chop
• etc

There are also Light Core figures. These are figures you will recognise from the first game, but they light up on the portal of power and have new moves/attacks. Think they only play on the Giants game.

• Light Core Eruptor
• Light Core Prism Break
• Light Core Drobot

oh...and the figures you have already should play on the Giants game.
