Stockings for everyone?

I'm getting so excited about Christmas this year!

Having originally thought it was going to be just myself & DH, plans have changed and my mum, dad and one of my brothers will be joining us.

My other brother (who I'm closer to and who is the life and soul of our family gatherings) won't be home this year. This is his first christmas away from home Sad

Anyway I'd like to make the day fun and keep the energy going (I think it can turn into a mundane day when there are no DC around).

So I came up with the idea of doing up stockings for everyone. I'd like to make them cheap and cheerful and funny.

So far I've thought of -
Brother - bald head hair brush, grow your own hair kit

Dad - fart pants,

Mum - grow your own Jesus kit (family joke, don't ask!)

But I'm not sure what else to include. We are quite jokey and sarcastic with each other.

I'd also like to send one to my other brother so he has a bit of home with him.

Any ideas?

Have a look at places like Hawkins Bazaar & dot come giftshop. They have good stocking fillers & HB has some jokey stuff. Are you just wanting jokey stuff? What about toiletries, chocs, miniatures of fave tipples, lottery ticket or scratch card, stuff you used to have in stocking as a kid (like choc coins, satsuma, apple), mini games, wind up toys to have a race with at dinner table.

I love Firebox for their bacon soap ;)

Thanks for the suggestions.

4fork Great idea! We always had certain items in out childhood stockings so I could include some of those - chocolate coins, satsuma, batteries, socks.

Ahardy bacon soap! Might be a goer for my dad. Thanks

well by law you have to include chocolate coins and a satsuma. i usually put in deodorant, a small teddy, pens, small items of jewellery (inexpensive), alcohol miniatures for grown ups, favourite sweets, new toothbrush, socks etc as well as joke items. last year my girls had little boxes of reindeer poo, with an evergreen seed in to grow their own christmas tree.

Thanks Cherry - love the reindeer poo idea.
Will also add alcohol miniatures to my list Grin
