Doesn't have to be Christmas themed, just something we can all enjoy together on Christmas Eve or Boxing Day (or even Christmas afternoon).
2 parents, teenage girl (15) and teenage boy (19). Any thoughts? Can't even start to list all the films we HAVE seen, so apologies if you come up with something we've already seen.

I did suggest an old James Bond movie, given that we all loved Skyfall but DH thinks it will be an anti-climax.

If Christmas Eve - Gremlins

GreenyEyes · 14/11/2012 16:54

Last Xmas eve, myself and my daughter watched It's A Wonderful Life together which was lovely. She was 11 though, and I couldn't get my slightly older son to watch it with us

Something like Elf, or The Nativity maybe?

GreenyEyes · 14/11/2012 16:55

I cannot actually believe that I just typed 'myself' instead of 'me'.

The. Shame.

Die Hard!
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

Also look at Bad Santa, and Scrooged.

I have to say, I think Elf still works for older folks, especially as Will Ferrell is so funny.

There will be some new releases out soon won't there? Look on Play.com for upcoming releases. The new Spiderman must be on DVD soon.

Pink Panther!

Watching with interest! We watch a film each Christmas Eve - ds's are 11 and 8 and already campaigning for a 'good' film...

Last year we watched Coraline which was fab!

tipp2chicago · 14/11/2012 23:36

Blazing Saddles!

Not strictly Christmas themed, but my Dad used always make us watch it when RTÉ showed it in the middle of the night at Christmas. So now it's my favourite Christmas movie and I intend to make DD watch it every Christmas until she is at least 21!

lilolilmanchester · 14/11/2012 23:47

Blazing Saddles, now there's a blast from the past... another possibility.

Am half-way tempted to suggest the Lion King, we all loved it and have watched it (almost certainly) 100 times... but not for quite a few years. It was the first film my DS ever watched from start to finish, and probably the longest rimw he's ever sat still in his entire life!!
