but, after checking every nc I cant remember, I'm still non-the-wiser. and I cant find the hard copy either.

I have a massive bowl of fruit soaking in brandy upstairs.

would I be ok to just use my fruitcake recipe and tweak it?

Can you google a Christmas cake? Delias maybe then tweak. Fruitcakes don't always have all the spices, treacle etc a christmas cake has.

I could. I'm so annoyed. it was MIL's nan's recipe.

Can you search some of the ingredients on here if you've posted & see if you can find it? When did you post it can you remember?

The way I found it was to put into mn search "brandy cake lissie" and it worked! I had to try and help an old friend if I could. Gald you have been reunited with your special recipe. I am making my family christmas cake recipe this weekend too.

I have never made puddings as my mum has never given me her special recipe!!!!! I must go steal it off her sometime soon!

Oh, yes! I use a delia one and steam it in the slow cooker. My mums a dreadful cook so all my recipes come from PIL's side. FILs mum made great pastry, MILs mum made great cakes!
