Tell me what your 15 month dc's enjoys

Dd will be 15 months at Christmas so looking for present ideas. Currently she is:

Walking very well
Enjoying her ride on cars
Likes putting things from one basket into another
Loves ball pool/books

I've got her the train set from ikea, a pack of the winter books from book people and some clothes not that she needs them

We were in elc the other day and she enjoyed pushing the dolls pram around, but don't know if she is to young?

I bought her a play tent and tunnel for her birthday, and she got given some puzzles/bath toys/books/clothes.

What are you all buying for your 15 month olds? :)

Bumping for you OP-DD is 13mo and I've only bought her some books and a tree decoration so far!

Yes! I'm struggling I think with it being so close to her birthday. She really is just enjoying pottering around the house, doing her own thing. Will report back with any ideas

The train set will be a hit if she is anything like my two. Both fascinated with cars and trains and liked to run a vehicle on a track or slide at that age.

I remember a shopping trolley and plastic food was also quite well received, along with the usual bath toys etc. If anything else spring to mind I will come back and let you know.

Yes I think she will enjoy the train set. Noticed ikea have a lot of the play food so might go for that too

DC2 is 18mo and we have bought him this Noah's Ark

as well as a load of books, because that's all he does all day is look at the same ones over and over. This one is a massive hit with him and he gets ridiculously happy when he finds it hidden underneath the sofa Silly book about pants

DD2 is 20 months now and has been playing with her sisters toy baby doll for a few months. She loves pushing her round in the buggy so I personally don't think you could go far wrong with dolly and pushchair (just make sure the handles aren't too high). We've bought her a toy travel cot, changing mat and bath bath with accessories for Christmas which was essentially the stuff we didn't have for DD1.

She also loves playing with all the kitchen stuff, tea sets, putting stuff in the oven etc etc.

Even if she's a little young now... It won't be long!! :)

Admittedly not as nice to look at as the wooden pram, but I wonder whether a wooden pram might be harder to push around for a younger one...?

Agree with things above. Also outdoor toys eg. Swing, sand table/pit as when they have a winter birthday and X-mas it is hard to find a reason to buy them bigger stuff in summer.

In elc the other day, she got a hold of one of the prams but I think she was trying to much to lean on it and so kept falling over. Think she is to used to pushing around her toys so the wooden pram would be better. I'm really liking the idea of that wooden pram now!

I run a toddler group and the 15 month old walkers all love pushing our toy pushchairs around and zooming cars down our big plastic ELC garage.

My advice would be to not get too much yourself - if you are anything like us, our DC gets given such a HUGE pile of presents for Christmas that it was a bit overwhelming. We had to take some away and open another day, in fact. So train set and books would be enough from you for now I think. Plenty of time to buy her big gifts when she's a but older!

Honestly it is really sturdy, i think its soooo lovely for a little one!

DS is 17 months. He loves:

pushing things (dolls buggies for example)
climbing things
slides
balls- kicking throwing, he isn't fussed.
dancing
Iggle fucking Piggle
dolls- although it might be because they are his sister's and it freaks her out when he messes with her Barbies.
those books that make noises. We have a few of them and he quite likes them
trains. DD has the My Little Pony train and he likes playing with that when she lets him. We got him his own for christmas. The happyland one tho, not My little Pony. It was £19 at the time. Not sure of the price now.

Was about to suggest a rocking toy or something but not much point as she has that lovely dog. My mum got my DC a beautiful, hardly been used Mama's and Papa's rocking horse from the church jumble sale for a POUND a couple of years ago. I couldn't believe it! My 2 both love it (DD is 5) and DS can just about climb up onto it himself now. Huge hit.

The dog is lovely eh? She actually has one that's a husky, rather than the Labrador in the pic. She just loves it though, hugs him and pats his back . My dad was very chuffed with how well he done picking it

Think I'm going to go for the pram below and that's all ill get bar few more smaller things and her great gran has said she would like to buy her a doll. I'll crochet a nice blanket for it and wrap it up too.

Awww I'm sure she'll love what you get her. They're much easier to please at this age!

My DD is 15 months today and she loves her pretend food and tea set we got her for her 1st birthday. We got her the ELC realistic looking toy food in 'Bag for Life' for £10, and a cheapy plastic tea set/cooking set. Throw in a dolly, washcloth, hair brush and old mobile phone and you have all you need for the simply pretend play that is developing. She'll spend ages pulling everything out of the bag, pretending to eat/drink ('mmm!') and feeding dolly/teddy.

Books and anything that plays music are still firm favourites. She also loves those cheap Tomy eggs, and messing about with simple peg puzzles.

Someone did mention a tea set to me, so might have a look for one and make up a box of 'pretend play'. I really need to have a sort out of her toys now and put all the more baby things away

Oh yes a tea set! Excellent investment. We have accumulated 3 over the years (DC are 2.5 and 4 now).

We have a Bigjigs picnic basket tin tea set for teddy bears picnics, role play etc and a plastic set (ELC I think? It was handed down from DSS) for outdoor play, messy play and bath time. We also have all the IKEA duktig ceramic bits and pieces and metal cookware for their play kitchen, although I wouldn't recommend the ceramic bits until they are older.

I'd recommend buying a good quality plastic one for your 15 month old that can then be relegated to messy play & mud pies once they are a bit older and wanting a more realistic one.

My DD is 17mths and just coming into some serious role play love, by accident today I found the Duktig range from IKEA - the felt food looks fantastic and only £7 a set, they have a salmon dinner, cooked breakfast, cake/ice cream, vegies and fruit set.

I'm going to get DD all of them for Xmas and they will go nicely with the play kitchen we are going to get for her 2nd birthday in May.

We have various plastic fruit n veg that she likes but I'm loving the crafty look of the felt pieces :)
