Presents are given at Christmas, not Thanksgiving in US.

I'm American, but have been living in UK for 23years. I know when we visit family (expats) they mainly miss food items like tea, jaffa cakes, digestive biscuits, penguins, hp sauce, cadbury roses and quality street lol

You can get those items in US but they tend to be quite expensive for things we take for granted over here.

Never known anyone to give presents for Thanksgiving (I currently live in the US). Definitely Christmas gifts. Thanksgiving really tends to just be families getting together and eating a big meal (like Christmas dinner but much more traditional rigid menu).
