ANY suggestions very much appreciated. We have exhausted Julia Donaldson, Quentin Blake, Janet & Allen Ahlberg, Dr Suess, Dick Bruna, Judith Kerr and Shirley Hughes.

Thanks!

Don't forget your library too if you are lucky enough to have one nearby. Ds, well all my dc, love going and choosing some new books, and there are no fines for under 5s where we live, plus they are generally happy to keep renewing books. It's really helpful too at the reading stage, dd1 reads a longish book in a weekend, and only sometimes reads them again, I couldn't keep her in books anymore.

book people have a 10% discount code at the moment, I think it is FESTIVE, I buy all our books there, they are cheaper than the charity shop now, look at the collections, they are always the best value.

My little boy is just 2 and loves swallows and amazons and my naughty little sister.

what about Elmer? We got ds a set and they are lovely. He loves Allan Ahlberg books too.

Ninjachipmunk - I hadn't thought of Elmer, that's a great idea!

Agendabender - Impressed that your son has such fine taste at such a young age! Arthur Ransome is amazing...

Emma Chichester Clark writes and illustrates the most beautiful books that are very loved by 2.5 year old DD and 4 year old DS. I can particularly recommend her wonderful version of Goldilocks, closely followed by Minty and Tink and any of her Blue Kangaroo books.
