Who knows about Furby toys? Help appreciated!

I have bought a furby for christmas and generally with stuff I try to stick batteries in/cut tags off/assemble so that I have a chance of getting the dinner actually cooked on the day

Does anyone know how these furbies work (something to do with an app?) and what I might need to sort out in advance, such as downloading app to iphone (?)/getting batteries? etc?

I am not actually sure what the thing is or what it does so if anyone knows that would be great. I have bought it as it has been begged for!

It doesn't need an app but you can download the furby app from the apple or android store.

It doesn't need batteries, you simply open it and start it up!!! X

it takes aasi think i am buying 2 this week not going to test as worried wont stop
