Where can I buy garlands?

I have a gorgeous thick fake pine garland that goes over my fireplace that my mum decorated years ago.

I now want one for my staircase. I have loads of ideas for decorating it and have 12 huge blue hydrangea heads that I've dried but I can only find thin stringy garlands that look really cheap.

I'm happy to pay for quality as my fireplace one is now 15 years old and still looks fantastic but from where? I've tried all the garden centres in my area and the expensive independents were no better than Homebase.

Surely they exist?

Otherwise have a look online? Or could you double/triple up some thinner ones with garden wire to make a thick one. I saw some in John Lewis at the weekend. I normally double up the strips of the fake christmas tree stuff or whatever you call it to make really thick ones for the stairs.

I think doubling up will be the way to go Ruby. This one is half the price of most I've seen and has a good tips to length ratio. My mums was from a florists but the ones near me just don't seem to supply them.

I'm probably being daft over quality as once I add ribbons, flower heads etc I won't notice the pine that much.

Yes I normally double up garlands. i find it works quite well to have 2. You can trim bits and attach them elsewhere as well if you want say really decorated in the middle and then more bushy at the ends.

I buy all my garlands from a sort of craft/party shop near my parents (in essex, if you're near). Although I imagine they buy it from a similar supplier as most places.

Definitely get some green wire and then you can really do whatever you want with it.
