I've got dh

2 Xbox games
Belt buckle
Watch
Cuff links
iTunes voucher
Smellies
Key ring
I gloves
Chocolates
New black shirt

His birthday is on the 7th so some things will be for that as well

rhondajean · 04/11/2012 20:34

Ive got DH

New phone
New jeans/pj bottoms/ polo shirt
A book on treating sports injuries
Clinique shave set (this is a Christmas tradition)
Ralph Lauren aftershave
Fcuk and lynx gift sets (from the girls)
Some DVDs and CDs

I always feel I struggle for inspiration for anything different for him but to be honest, he's quite easy to buy for, he likes clothes although he is quite particular about what clothes, he likes gadgets, one of the biggest hits in recent years was bose headphones, another was the turntable thing so he can record his vinyl onto the pc and put it on his iPod.

Oh yes an iPod nano one year went down well because he runs - also a garmin forerunner watch which times his runs, heartbeat, , speed, distance, makes him a cuppa when he gets back in(you get the idea...)

I've also discovered that if he does not receive a box of maltesers, a chocolate orange and a broons/Oor wullie annual, Christmas doesn't happen for him bless him.

I am getting my dh a lovely mahjong set
(he loves games and really engages with the children with games of all descriptions - it's one of the few games that he doesn't own)

Some 1000 mile socks
Victoria Pendleton's book
Some igloves (you can use phone etc with these gloves on)
And probably a DVD box set of some description.

BeaWheesht · 04/11/2012 20:41

I've got dh so far:

The a team DVD
The bucket list DVD
Star wars t shirt
Stone roses I am the resurrection t shirt
Darth vader and son book (to read with ds)

Last year I got him and his mate stone roses tickets which cost a fortune so he's not getting a lot this year!!

rhondajean · 04/11/2012 20:48

Stone roses t shirt is a fab idea bea.

mameulah · 04/11/2012 21:59

Things that have gone down well in recent years include a running watch, kindle, portable digital radio, nice leather wash bag from John lewis, Martin wishart cook school voucher, magazine subscription, DVD box sets, nice toiletries...

RubyFakeNails · 05/11/2012 00:28

So far I've bought:

Boardwalk Empire DVD and Book
Game of Thrones DVD
Breaking Bad 4 DVD
YSL Aftershave
Dr Dre Headphones
Hat
IPad Case

Will probably get him some bits and bobs like nice socks, smellies, lighters, sweets, etc.

Am still looking for that special gift though.

Not sure what to get this year, so watching with interest. DP's birthday is close to Christmas, so I always struggle to come up with two ideas. Recent successes include:
Kindle,
Leather kindle case with built in light,
decent knives in a knife block,
Head torch (from the kids),
Nice leather briefcase/bag for work,
A PSP,
Some very fine Calvados,
A cashmere jumper,
a "man tray" (leather valet thing for cufflinks/watches/spare change etc).

There must be lots more, but can't think at the moment. I remember reading once that the best thing to do when buying for men is to just get them a better version of something they already have, rather than trying to think of something completely new.

madwomanintheattic · 05/11/2012 01:25

Mine is getting a watch from me, and a crew rugby shirt from kidlets.

If I can scrounge together enough cash.

madwomanintheattic · 05/11/2012 01:26

Lol, welsh, that ties in with your last line then... Both of those things he already has, and he's been moaning about his watch strap being broken, and his many and varied selection of rugby shirts have seen faaaaar better days.

It does make sense.

kiwiscantfly · 05/11/2012 11:24

I got my DH a coffee subscription last year which he loved! Each month he got sent two small bags of really nice beans, but you can also get ground. I just googled it.

kevmark · 03/12/2012 13:30

I've got dh

T shirts
Hoody
DVDs
Fun snaps ( those things you throw at the ground and they bang)
Hat and scarf and gloves
Hand warmers
Darth vader and son book
Whisky stones (you put them in freeze to cool and use in whisky so you don't dilute it with melting ice)

I quite often get him tickets for a comedian / band but we are a bit skint this year.

BeaWheesht · 03/12/2012 13:36

Ha I've replied to this twice
