My brother has a very good salary. He has a girlfriend but no children. In his early 30's. He has very expensive taste and would think nothing of spending £200 on a jumper. He buys us expensive gifts and i would love to get him something nice but cant afford the sorts of things he would like. Im looking for imaginative gifts which wont break the bank. Thought of suggesting not buying for adults idea but i thinks he would be a bit annoyed as he buys for our children and does not have any of his own. Once he does it may be easier to suggest that sort of thing.

Any ideas very welcome.

I have a similar situation with one sibling. The best present I've managed was obtaining a photo from a local paper (from when they appeared in a news item as a child) and framing it. It took time and effort but wasn't that pricey and was really appreciated.

A charity gift for example from Oxfam online.

My Dad loves reading so I once brought him the gift of some books for schools in Africa and he loved it. It's thoughtful, charitable, doesn't cost the earth so I think great for those tricky adults who have everything

Does he like wine? A really nice bottle of red wine in a wooden box?
A voucher for something obscure like skid pan driving or deep sea fishing? Not that expensive but great fun.

Something home made like a cake or a special meal made with love...priceless.
