Ready for Playmobil or stick with Wow Toys?

DD will be 4.4 at Christmas and I was wondering if this year should be the start of Playmobil or if we would be better adding to her Wow Toy (age range is 18 months - 5 yrs) collection?

I know she is at the younger end of the Playmobil age range and I want to wait until she really appreciates the detail etc of Playmobil before buying it for her (she is not that careful with her current toys).

She has a fair amount of Wow Toys and I was thinking the ambulance would be a good addition (they are a more basic version of playmobil I guess). She also has a new baby sister who will be 6 months at Christmas so I am a bit worried about the tiny pieces getting around the house.

Would I be crazy to wait until she was 6 and her sister was over two?

The playmobil I had my eye on was the Campervan and the pool.

DS is the same age and loves playmobil. The sets you mentioned are good starter sets - the children's zoo and the dolphin basin are popular in this house (although there's a pirate obsession currently going on).

There are a lot of tiny bits though, is there any way that your dd would get to play with any playmobil away from dd2? Nap time? DS has recently taken to going to play on his own in his bedroom - is this something your DD does?

Dd1 same sort of age as your dd and loves playmobil. She plays with it away from dd2 and I have put some of smaller bits in tins so don't get lost or into dd2s mouth.

Thanks for the feedback, I was thinking a bit more last night and I decided to just go for the playmobil for me for her, I love Wow toys but it is time for something new. I will store the really tiny bits until both DD's are older.

DD1 loves animals too but we have the Duplo Zoo/Polar Zoo so plenty of that type of thing already.

She is weirdly obsessed with pointing out campervans/motorhomes where ever we go so I think that will be a good buy, and loves swimming/holiday's etc too so hopefully they will be a big hit.

She does play in her room a fair bit now by dumping all her toys in the middle of the room, has a dollhouse, the octopod and various other toys up there.

The campervan and the pool look good, and are often recommended on here so I'm sure your DD will love them. I really wanted to get for me the pool and holiday stuff but DS sadly is all about the pirates!
