That's just it really - I need inspiration!
Normally we just say vouchers/money but I would like actual presents this year, and family have started asking so I said I'd think about it.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Am married and pg, and have had a crap year so want nice things!!

I haven't done a list since I was about 12!

glenthebattleostrich · 22/10/2012 20:20

I'm doing mine now for DH. It is an experiment but I am sick of hearing 'Don't know what to get you' So far I have

Cath Kidson Bag, my favourite ones below:

More socks
Undies (do not ask anyone else to get these, that would be really weird)

For specific things I've put in links.

Cheeky I know but after presents for the kitchen and 6 years of body lotion (nice ones but still) he needs retraining!!

glenthebattleostrich · 22/10/2012 20:20

Oh and it is strictly an ideas list not an I must have these things or no sex for a year list.

TheReturnOfBridezilla · 22/10/2012 20:27

Ooh my list right now would be.

A pair of lovely flat boots I saw in Clarks (I know, but they were really nice!)

Perfume either Givenchy Very Irresistible or Thierry Mugler Alien

New Clinique skin stuff because I am running out and it's pricey to replace.

Spa weekend

Chunky silver bracelet

Nice pyjamas

Vouchers for clothes

Lovely scarves/nail varnish / books

I am like a walking mum cliche at Christmas. Grin

ja9 · 22/10/2012 20:45

Ooh...my wishlist would be...

Cath kidston black spotty purse
Wee coloured bowls from Cath K
Milk jug to go with rest of my tea set
New wellies
Twinkly lights for my new workstation
A new throw for my bed
A pretty overnight bag

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 22/10/2012 20:47

I have decided this year to let my family know about all the things I lust over in the cox and cox brochure that I can't justify buying for myself.

things like
bird magnets

little birds

hands
fire
bird feeder
beautiful bird feeder

there are more but I should stop now Grin

HappyAsEyeAm · 22/10/2012 20:48

I think I am a bit of a cliche wife and mum at Christmas too. I would like:

Gabor Verano boots in brown from Jones
A nice red scarf (I really like one in Country Casuals of all places)
Patterned tights
Stila lipglosses
A Benefit set - Jetset I think its called
Clinique body comfort body lotion
Clinique sparkle skin body exfoliator
Benefit Badgal mascara
Anything from Hotel Chocolat
Pyjamas

Just realised that I am less of a cliche than I thought, as there isn't hand cream on the list!

BertieBotts · 22/10/2012 20:54

Some kind of technological gadget perhaps? A kindle or tablet, new phone or camera? You can also angle for these as distraction/awake keeping tools for night feeds or cluster feeding once baby is here Grin

Or

Books
Perfume
Pretty (but unbreakable) house things
Nice bath stuff, hair stuff, massage oils, face masks etc if you like that kind of thing. (Spa break voucher??)

What do you like doing?

Ellypoo · 22/10/2012 20:55

Ooh love cath kidston stuff, some great ideas - thanks all!!!!

DVD box sets, CDs, etc?

Taffraid · 22/10/2012 21:48

I want a KitchenAid and an iPad

I will ask for:

  • Miranda's book
  • Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin bodywash
  • Emma Bridgewater comport
  • Rose - Souvenir du Docteur Jamain

Sheesh man I am OLD

Taffraid · 22/10/2012 21:48

Oh yeah and the Homeland boxset

MorrisZapp · 22/10/2012 21:53

What you lot all said, plus a Nutella breakfast set from Boots.

It features two fab cereal bowls. I'm all about cereal bowls these days.

FluffyFish · 22/10/2012 22:26

There are some magazine subscriptions I want. Two American newsy one's and also Stylist as I love it and don't commute often enough to pick it up.

CiderwithBuda · 22/10/2012 22:37

Well I would like an e-reader but not sure I want a Kindle really after reading some of the threads on here about them giving up the ghost after a year. Need to research.

Have bought the box set of Grays Anatomy that was on offer on Amazon last week. That can be part of my present.

Something from Hotel Chocolat would be nice.

Magazine subscription a good idea. DH got me Woman & Home last year. Hope he renews it.

And I REALLY REALLY want a back scratcher. REALLY.

Am trying to decide between two pairs of Hobbs boots at the moment too.

MorrisZapp - Nutella set sounds great. Must investigate that for DS.

anja1cam · 22/10/2012 23:52

After years of not being asked and hints or suggestions not hitting the mark much, I am now actively compiling a list on Amazon - but DH is encouraged to discuss it with me and it's just ideas:

good running trousers (Asics, I only have cheapie ones)
(I should put running shoes there too but buying those is a bit more involved...)
magimix food processor (yes how boring and I'll probably just use Christmas money to put towards it)
cordless mouse
spoke bike lights
some nice cookery books (The Skinny French Kitchen, Hairy Bikers Baking, Around the world in 80 dishes)
spice box subscription
some LUSH toiletries (I can't enter a shop as that's too intense smell-wise, but love the stuff in isolation!)
and for fun Magnetic Magic Balls Puzzle Cube (216 Pieces)

Having it on Amazon means DH is more likely to look at it, can share it with PIL and I can keep changing it, I have the 'add to list' button on my browser for non-Amazon things.

CherryMonster · 22/10/2012 23:58

currently:

call the midwife dvd box set
salmon fishing in the yemen dvd
fancy bookstand for in the kitchen
ipod docking station.

cant think of anything else, and am a nightmare to buy for as there is never much i want.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/10/2012 13:18

Books, books and more books for me please.

And a silver bracelet.

And a small blue box from Tiffany with a silver key in it!

And a cashmere scarf.

And a Vivienne Westwood bag.

And some salted caramel.

:)

CambridgeBlue · 23/10/2012 13:32

I'm hoping for an iPad but may end up buying one myself as it's a big present to expect anyone else to get. Other than I would like:

This bag

or this FatFace one

or this CK one

This lovely scarf following an S&B thread

These biker boots

I'd also like the original Dallas on DVD, the Hairy Bikers diet cookbook, some Orla Kiely shower gel/body lotion, a silver necklace with a bird on and some baking beans. Or any of the books on my Amazon wishlist. Or vouchers.

That sounds a lot and I don't expect to get more than 1 or 2 things but it doesn't harm to have plenty of ideas because my family always ask for them. I put most of them on my Amazon wishlist as it makes things easier for my shopping phobic DH everybody.

ELR · 23/10/2012 18:00

I would like loads of surprises but that never happens so I will ask for but don't think I will get.....
Kitchen aide in boysenberry £429 dream on!!
Karen Millen black quilted tote bag £200 never happening!!
Aspinall zip around purse £110 maybe...
Pandora rose charm £30 a definite
Pandora pearl ring £85 a possible
Good quality hand made fudge
Jo Malone bubble bath and shower gel
Anorak kissing stags picnic rug

Ellypoo · 23/10/2012 18:01

Brilliant ideas & suggestions.

I love reading so an e-reader would be fab, or just books (although DH will go mad if I have any more books in the house!!).

Love bags too - and housey things (glasses, vases, bowls, photo frames, cushions etc).

Thanks all :)
