I've started this weekend. Had Jona Lewie (which DS loves) on in the car. Now listening to some before the X Factor starts. Just had Fairytale of New York on. Anybody else?

There are no words. It's OCTOBER.

CherryMonster · 20/10/2012 20:41

i play it on my laptop with earphones when i am doing christmas shopping. i have 4 dc's and it takes a lot of shopping so i find it inspires me. dont play it any other time until december though.

parsnipcake · 20/10/2012 20:44

My dd and I had 2000 miles on while in the park today. I listen to it while Christmas shopping and then all the time in December. We are watching our first Christmas movie tomorrow night :)

Snazzyspookyandscary · 20/10/2012 20:46

Love 2000 Miles. I usually play it when driving on my own. In by myself tonight so have indulged in the house Smile

Parsnip what film will it be? May have to dig my collection out...

yes. I cooked a big roast dinner the other day and DD put on the Christmas music as it reminded her of Xmas and it's been on ever since Blush I obviously don't cook a roast dinner that often. It was Wed 17th Oct which is far too early for carols especially as the house is all decked out in Halloween decorations.

LadyInPinkingShears · 20/10/2012 20:49

Oooh yes DD and I watched Miracle on 34th Street last weekend too so perhaps that's why she felt inspired to put the Xmas tunes on - have an ipod full of them.

parsnipcake · 20/10/2012 20:50

Snazzy , 'Christmas with the kranks' or the first 'home alone'. ( I avidly video them off sky and have over 200), though most are too cruddy to engage the rest of the family!

If you like 2000 miles, try googling the Coldplay version, it's lovely.

TerrorNotSoFrightened · 20/10/2012 20:51

Yes and no.

NO, because I don't have anything festive in the house until 1st December, when I traditionally watch Love actually in the evening, then play the Christmas tunes the next day.

YES,Because some lovely MN'er recommended spotify, which I purchased and made up some Christmas playlists. That is not over zealous, that is just being organised. :)

Haribojoe · 20/10/2012 20:52

DS1 asked the other day when would Christmas songs start playing on the radio Grin I think the Christmas iPod playlist may be coming out this week in the Haribo house Wink

Snazzyspookyandscary · 20/10/2012 20:59

Oh, thanks parsnip, I didn't know Coldplay had done it. Will definitely look for that. I also record Christmas films obsessively though not sure I have 200! I always look out for Movies247 becoming Christmas247 Smile

I am still trying to get hold of Noel Gallagher's version of Merry Christmas Everybody (as used on Royle Family) which doesn't seem to be on iTunes and is otherwise only on an obscure and expensive compilation album.

yes!

i played "baby please come home" the darlene love version, the mariah version and the michael buble version, as i wanted to see which one i preferred Blush

i have also played michael buble's christmas album in the car a few times this month, at my DD's request. she's 3 and she loves him!

as from 6th november i will blast it proudly.

Llareggub · 20/10/2012 21:10

You are all mad.

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/10/2012 21:14

I listen constantly to 1.FM "Always Christmas." I find it soothing when I've had a bad day. Blush

Snazzyspookyandscary · 20/10/2012 21:15

Merry Christmas llareggub ! Grin

Yes I have Grin Nativity! Soundtrack, Now That's what I call Xmas etc etc

The Christmas movies are out of the attic and dusted off. We're watching The Polar Express this afternoon. Already watched Nativity!, Home Alone and Miracle on 34th Street over the past few weeks.

WantAnOrange · 21/10/2012 07:54

Trying to hold out but Michael Buble is calling.....

PeppermintLatte · 21/10/2012 11:47

WantAnOrange i've always found that when buble calls that it's always best just to go with it.

Bunbaker · 21/10/2012 11:51

Er no.

It's October for goodness sake. I can just about bear hearing them all through December, but I prefer to keep Christmas at Christmas. Let's get Halloween, my birthday and bonfire night out of the way first.

GossipWitch · 21/10/2012 11:56

ds2 was singing jingles bells yesterday morning....

WantAnOrange · 21/10/2012 13:20

Maybe some non christmas Buble to keep me going?

BiddyPop · 22/10/2012 16:47

I've been playing the Rat Pack to myself the past 2 weeks, and DD brought the Snowman out to my car yesterday Grin She honestly chose to do that herself!!!

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 22/10/2012 17:23

I want to, so much.

It's just fear of what people will think holding me back Blush

Onadietcolabreak · 22/10/2012 18:17

I can't, I would if I could Sad But I have lost all my christmas music when my laptop died!

FoofyShmooffer · 22/10/2012 18:20

Nooooooooo

1st December and not a moment before.

jessicaweber · 22/10/2012 20:40

not playing it - but singing - even worse ;) I always drive work colleagues insane "Jingle bells, jingle bells..."
