gift ideas for 1 year old girl......

hi, its my dd first Christmas and im looking for recommendations on what your dc enjoyed playing with most!! im fed up with buying what the brochures recommend and would like to hear from other moms on their ideas..... mtia

To be honest the wrapping paper and boxes Not much help I know?

We bought DD a charm bracelet that we add to every year.

Apart from that I would agree with boxes and wrapping paper.
DC are now 9 and 6 and still like a huge box to play in :)

Watching with interest as I'm in the same position. So far dressing gown, slippers, chunky crayons - first arty stuff type thing.

whatever you do get, only get a couple of things. Our dd was 1 last christmas and after having two presents with family around, she had a bit of a meltdown as it was all a bit too much for her! she spent the rest of the day a bit overwhelmed and as a result very tired!

In all honesty in our case it was the shiny paper that got her interest the most so a box full of paper would have been ideal! Other than that - basic small puzzles and toys, wheely bug (which took another 6 months to grow into), aquadoodle (which has been really good so not painting the house and table with crayons!), books, toothbrush, knife and fork and plate set etc. We also bought her her own special knitted stocking to keep for years. As lovely as it all is, she won't know about it and if you get everything for christmas you will be wondering what to get for the rest of the year when you fancy getting her something new!

The most well played with toys in our house are stacking cups, a shape sorter and this brilliant pop-up thingy. DD2 loves them all (13 months) and they were given to DD1 at about the same age and she still plays with them in different ways now and she's almost 4.

Hide and squeak eggs.
Vtech torch (sings and has colour filters)... Very annoying but she would love it.
Leapfrog Violet bear.

Dd got a wheelybug whicoh is well played with. She also liked stacking cups, bath toys and a rag doll.

I second stacker cups and hide and squeak eggs.

Also this which is still played with now and DD is almost 3

Best present for a one year old is aqua draw. Imo
