Christmas planner/notebooks etc

I'm looking for a Christmas planner type thing to keep to do lists, ideas, recipes, Christmas card lists etc in. I've seem some different ones linked to in the Christmas threads, and there was a flurry of people planning to order the Cath Kidston ones.

Has anyone got a Christmas planner that they really like? I created a complicated Christmas spreadsheet last year, but it just wasn't the same!

my DH ordered me the CK one from amazon, (the small handbag sized one) and although it has bad reviews i really like it - really good for taking out shopping and noting down ideas as they come to you! As this was a 'surprise' I had also bought for myself a lovely liberty notebook in which i am writing lunch menus, recipes for my christmas cake, ideas etc. i still vividly remember my mum's christmas notebook coming out every year - it probably still does - and hopefully some day my children will remember mine. and they will still have a bit of 'our christmas' with them.

Look up the Dodo range on Amazon- they have a Christmas planner. Not sure if it is exactly what you want (style wise) but it is fairly popular.

I think you could create something for yourself with a small ring file and some paper, subject dividers and plastic pockets. In fact, when I had larger Christmasses to plan, I used to use a Filofax. It made it easier when at work and browsing around the shops during lunch hour. It was also anonymous, as I figured a file with Christmas all over it would attract unwanted nosy attention from a small person! (the present list especially)

These days I just use a spiral bound A5 notebook from Poundland, mainly for meal planning, shopping lists and things to cook in advance.

I have the CK one and am loving it so far if that helps

I'm another DIY tightarse planner person girlywhirly.

I have a small hardbacked notebook which has my Christmas Card list in it, with columns for each year and I tick off when I've written the card; add new recipients/cross off those I no longer send to (blimey that sounds sooo sad)! Keep it in my Christmas card box in the loft - I buy most of my Christmas cards in the NY sales and stick em up with the decorations (sounds even sadder).

I also have password protected document on computer with gift lists -keep a record of what I've bought - goes back years - not only to make sure I don't repeat, but to reuse gift ideas for other children as they get older.

I also have on the computer a list of things I generally need every year so I don't need to recreate the list - or can just add to/cross off - everythign from napkins, candles, tablecloth etc through to ideas for quick and easy meals, things to make a head, NYE meal ideas etc etc.

All aimed at just updating rather than recreating.

THen just use an everyday notebook for general to dos running up to Christmas.

Yes, I have a generic list for shopping lilolil. The things I have every year, and then add on all the other bits depending on what I'm cooking, etc. I need to have a plan of what meals I'm making, even better if it's already made and just needs defrosting and heating up!

I too hang on to previous years present lists and card lists, although the card list gets smaller every year, DH and I are at the life stage where lots of rellies have died and lots of others are cutting back on cards, so it's mostly friends on the list.

My mum could have done with a planner for all the relatives she used to buy presents for however!
