Mine has asked for a few things but the reviews are all crap.

Do I buy them for her anyway? What else can I get?

She's asked for Monster High, Baby Alive, Secret Journal, Twister Dance, Barbie wardrobe and the big NO is an i-pad!

Oh and a Barbie MP3 player?

Oh help!

My DD also want one of those pillow pets, I'd forgotten that. I'm sure she'd love a tablet because she's always wanting to play on the cbeebies games on my laptop whilst I'm mnetting busy doing jobs. I think I'll save that idea because she hasn't actually asked for one yet and the longer I can hold off on screen type toys the better for my sanity I feel.

DD turns 7 on Boxing Day, and is getting a bike from Santa this year (she needs it and DH has been feeding the idea).

Last year, she got a big lego Firestation set, that she and DH had loads of fun with (I did too, but they spent more time working on it). And a jigsaw (loved) and a board game (Operation - loved).

When she was 5, Santa brought a large box for arts and crafts supplies (well filled), a lacing game and a birthday poem jigsaw. All of which she loved.

We don't tend to pay that much attention to her requests though, as she asks for everything she sees off the tv and there's nothing that she really WANTS in that list.

The exception was when she was 4, she really wanted a scooter and we got that. She still uses that a lot now. And I think she does want the bigger bike (as well as needs it), and she has started to ask for that now - along with 20 other things that were on tv that afternoon.

we got dd a nexus 7 tablet as a main gift (which is for the whole family really)
and then lots of smaller crafty type bits. It might seem lavish but i got is for a really really good price and we are a family of gadget geeks!

She's not really one for playing with toys and she has loads that she doesn't play with. I refuse to buy more plastic stuff to add to the pile of stuff that is taking over my living room

some good ideas here.

I'm stuggling a bit for my non girlie 6 year old but might consider the Moshie HQ, she'd like that.

Do consider the Fliker scooter people, dd got it for her 6th b'day recently and it's fab.

My DD is big into Star Wars, but is starting to get a bit interested in Dr. Who, mainly from her classmates. I'm guessing there will be an annual for Dr Who but has anyone seen any for Star Wars?

Lego city train set is on the cards at the moment - to go with the lego city police station she got for her birthday. She loves it and is happy to say "some people think this is just for boys but that's silly".
