Help needed choosing a bike and doll.

I have a £50 max budget for each main gift for DCs.

I know DS would love a bike, he is average hight and 5years old. He will need stabilisers. Any tips on size of bike and anyone spotted a good one for my budget? He loves Ben 10, Spider-Man ect, but its not a must.

I think DD2 (will be 21mnths old) would love a doll, but I'm looking for a realistic sized newborn, without hair, not a baby born. Just a basic one (the cheaper the better

DD is 3.9 but is tall for her age. We went to a local shop and she sat on the bikes so we know what size to ask santa for!

She needs a 16" bike. So far the cheapest I have found is £60 on tesco direct.

So your DS probably needs atleast a 16". Keep an eye out in Smyths. They usually have money off coupons coming up to xmas and if you keep shopping around you might get it cheaper than £60.

As for the doll, Smyths have a great selection of dolls for all different budgets. I know you dont want a baby born anyway, but dont change your mind. They are IME for much older children. DD got one for xmas last year and didnt like it at all.

Yeah, think i might have to take him to try someout, but i wanted It to be a complete surprise.

What about a baby Stella doll.

We got one for DD at about that age and she loved it - she is soft bodied and cuddly. DD still plays with her daily now and she is almost 3.

You can get additional outfits/extras for her and we have asked others to buy these - we now have a bag with nappies and change stuff (wipes, mat, cream etc) and a couple of outfits that keep DD quiet for ages

could you buy stabalisers seperate?

My mum ordered my dd a doll from elc, I think it's called cupcake baby doll and it comes with an outfit, nappy, hat and little wrist tag. We don't have it yet but it looks quite nice online, it's £20 but elc are doing 20% off everything at the moment.

regarding the doll tesco toy sale have my first baby annabelle for 10.00 but if you live near a b&m store they have it for 7.99.

these are lovely dolls and smell nice too.Both dd's have one, and dd2 has had hers since a year old. She carries her everywhere. Cleans easily too. Same price on Amazon.
You can buy separate stabilisers to add to bikes for about £12, just need to check if they will go on the bike first. They have them in argos and amazon. I read something in a review about the bit they screw on needing to be long enough.

I got my 6yo DS a 18in Muddyfox Bmx for £50 from Sports Direct. I'm sure I spotted 16in bikes for £45 this was last week though. I also got my neice a my first baby annabelle for £12.99.

My DDs, (4 and 1 last year) got this baby girl and a baby boy (one each) for Christmas, some baby born clothes to dress them in, a washing up bowl each to use as a baby bath (cheaper and sturdier that a toy baby bath) a towel and a tiny bottle of baby shampoo. They have loved playing with them.
The dolls do nothing, they don't wee, they don't cry, they don't move, but you can bath them which means they are the dolls that get played with the most.
They also look quite real which for adults is a bit wierd but the children have loved them.

Imo, the most basic dolls remain firm favourites, when DC get bored of the functions of more sophisticated dolls (or the functions cease to work!)
