This year on Christmas day it will be me, DH, DS and the dog. We will have nibbles, champagne, the tv, toys and lovely food. We will head out for a walk at somepoint too. No parents to spend it with but I am looking forward to it although will very much miss Australian family.

Boxing day is very different. 16 friends and their families all coming for food. This year I am doing curry. Nice and easy. Usually a good day with wine, a few games on the wii and lots of chat.

New Year we just sleep right through that!

So sorry to folks having Christmas without DC, hope you can get together with friends or/and have another Christmas day with dc?

We're flying home (to UK from LA) on 23rd, in planning a secret Christmas Eve hamper for DH, DC, Parents and my brother thanks to MN! DBro is home from Afghanistan so we're all staying with my parents. Christmas day usual stockings for DC, fizz and smoked salmon breakfast, big meal then prob a walk.

Prob boxing day lunch in a pub, though we might head into London to see friends.

DD naming ceremony and party on 28th. Not sure when DH will fly back yet but hoping mum and dad will babysit so I can go and get twatted in London with my friends Grin best grandparents EVER

I think my parents are prob going to my sister's so will just be me, DH and 3 boys at home. We will probably spend an evening or two over at friend's houses eating cheese and drinking wine; we'll either go out for Xmas lunch or buy everything from Ocado to heat cook. Grin

I will have a budget for presents that will get blown out of the water on Xmas eve as I trawl shops for stocking fillers and seeing little things the DC will love...

We will choose a real tree very late and end up with a wonky but beautiful smelling one. I will top up my massive pile of decos on Xmas eve when they are all discounted Each child will choose one new tree deco.

DH will pretend to be all nonchalant but will get all teary when he sets out the little nativity [in a house full of rampant atheists, including him Grin]

We will have a film night on Xmas eve and put out some mince pie, carrot and milk stuff for Father Xmas. We will still be wrapping presents at 2am.

We will have staffordshire oatcakes, smoked salmon and champagne for breakfast with donuts for the kids. Kids won't eat anything because they've eaten four tons of sweets from their stockings.

Smallest child will give out the presents from under the tree. We will have forgetten to untwist all the twisty things so kids will beat each other senseless while bored waiting to play with their stuff.

We will eat around 2, and stay in our pyjamas all day.

We will visit family, and go to one or maybe two plays.

Lovely.

Another 1st time host here! MIL, FIL, SIL, SIL'S DH, DN (17yo) & their Rottweiler coming to stay (not sure how long for). My DM, DF, their Collie, DGM & DU & their Collie coming for the day so with me & DW & our Ddog will be 12 adults (count DN as an adult at 17yo) & 4dogs! in my 3bed terrace Grin

So looking forward to it but a bit worried about SIL's Rottie as she has never met any of the other dogs (who regularly spend time together) but we will work something out.

Not sure what the plans are but those staying at mine will go out on the piss Xmas eve at DW's bar. Lazy day CD including getting up late, champagne breakfast & a couple of nice walks for the dogs. Bliss.

Not exactly sure yet. Probably repeat of last year - XH will come round and present opening will happen and food will get eaten. Last year I did manage to fall asleep for a few hours in the afternoon (accidentally honestly Grin) which helped. Then Boxing Day probably DC and I will go down to my mum and dads house and also see sister and her DH and DD. then somehow pass children over to XH who will take them to his mum and dad ans ill come back here and mark exam papers. Although this year different in that I have a boyfriend who I will want to see at some point.....

I'm at work! From 7am-7pm in A+E and will no doubt be dealing with the usual knob heads that should have seen their GP with their silly problems!

How bitter do I sound!!!

My beautiful DC are spending the day with my parents because their own dad can't be arsed to have them!!!

We will have our own christmas on the 27th because that's my day off, working all of new year too.......

We will be having our first ever Christmas at home, in our new house. We did a Christmas ourselves just after we got married, but hired a cottage for that. Usually we go to the in-laws which is really lovely but I am looking forward to our first Christmas at home. This one will be me, husband, daughter and 2 cats. I have invited my dad down but not sure what his plans are yet.

I am looking forward to decorating the house and doing the things I want to do. We'll watch The Muppets Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve. Have lots of nice food. If my dad doesn't come we'll probably have roast beef instead of turkey. If he does then we'll be more traditional. I will be helping with food prep but roasts are really the husband's department so that's quite handy.

It will be light on booze for me as by that point I will be about 6 months pregnant.
