I'm making my wonderful grandparents a hamper for Christmas and will be filling it with lovely treats like champagne, chocolate, cheese and chutneys etc.

I want it to be a suprise but I want to include some treats from their younger years so I need some ideas on what sort of things to include.

I'm also on the hunt for a wicker basket to arrange it all in if possible.

Is anyone else trying to organise a hamper and need help hunting down good finds?

Liquorice!

Sugar Barley and Yorkshire mixture. Humbugs and mint imperials.

Sounds a fab gift.

my grandad used to love tom thumb sweets, think you can still get them from old fashonied sweet shops. And toffee is a good shout.

My Nan's favourites are Liquorice Comfits. DH's too, come to think of it.

Also, original Rhubarb and Custards - the ones that look like broken up sticks of rock, not the round ones. Taste miles better. And are my complete favourites.

I want a sweetie hamper for Christmas now too!

There is a website called AQuarterOf.co.uk that sells retro sweets.

Unfortunately I can't help you with what ones would be appropriate but they are all gorgeous Grin

There is a brilliant sweet shop near us that does retro sweet hampers.
It's called Bah Humbugs, I'm pretty sure they do mail order :)

My granny LOVED cough candy.
But they're revolting, so unless you know yours to love them too, suggest you stay well away!

You're all great, lovely ideas and how did I forget about liquorice!

My dad's 70 and he enjoyed wagon wheels as a kid. He swears they're smaller now though!
