Any ideas for 'annual' tradition presents for a boy?

We'd like to have some sort of tradition for DS, and think an 'annual' gift is the way to go, trouble is we can't think of anything that would be appreciated by him as a teen/adult, what do/would you give your DC?

Ideas I've had so far; stamps, coins, Folio Society books, Holiday Barbie Grin

Thanks in advance!

Fossils or interesting gemstones
Shares in different companies
Artwork by up and coming local artists
Vintage records

What are his interests?

Cheddars, sleeping & hitting stuff...he's 9 months. So, it should be easy to 'force' a present tradition on him now, we're not expecting him to care about whatever it is for 3/4 years.

Ohhel, ooh, f1 pieces is a great idea as everyone in the family is a petrolhead!

BedHog, like the artwork ideas (quite close to many art colleges) should be able to get something at their annual exhibitions.

How about (age-appropriate) first edition books?

He could look forward to reading them as well as having them for possible future investment.

My DP's aunt bought his sister a Harrod's teddy every year, some of them are quite rare and valuable now.

I bought DS and DD a Harods teddy for their first christmas. The only present we made a tradition of for DS was a Guiness Book of Records, but that wasnt until he was older and was interested in it.

My mum gets DD one of the bank of England limited edition coins every year. She loves to play (carefully!) with them now and they should be worth something when she's older.

I keep meaning to mount them or something but at the moment they're still in a special money box.
