How did u come up with a name for your elf on the shelf?

Can't think of a name for mine have ordered it from amazon. Am squirming with excitement for his Christmas

:) I'd like to let DS name ours. I know this doesn't quite work with the elf arriving with his passport, I am still working on a story for this! Though DS is going to have just turned two by December 1st, so not sure I really need to have it all sussed until next year.

We went through a list of Christmassy names - ours is called Cranberry. Seems to suit him!

We went through the males characters in Big Bang Theory:

(Raj/Howard/Sheldon/Leonard)

The DC decided on Sheldon

We got our elf last Christmas, I was very heavily pregnant with ds who DH was desperate to call Jimmy. I compromised and called the elf this instead!

Same as NoHank, ours is Eggnog. We have a reindeer called Carol, they got stuck in the tree when they arrived . I am keen on a sister for Eggnog, maybe Tinsel but I'm yet to persuade dp.

I googled elf names, he is called Avery.

I thought the kids named it?

Oh, I hope I can name it and not the kids, I'll end up with Ripjaw the elf or some such nonsense I think mine looks like a Gerald although, I love the xmassy names - wished brought the girl, she would have been Sally Cinnemon!

If I asked ds 3yo to name him I'd end up with nemo or lightning or something plus I would need to come up with an explanation as to why he didn't have a name to begin with as surely Santa would have had to give him a name wen he was a baby?

We kind of did it as a family. They knew the elf was coming, so we had a chat about what he might be called. Guided by dp and I of course. Ds1 came up with some crackers but didn't believe in it anyway as he's 8. you can download a passport from the web just google elf on the shelf. I had such a ball last December can't wait!
