Am really struggling to think of things to buy DS1 for Christmas. He doesn't play with imagination toys (never has done tbh) - he has a 3DS and we have a Wii so I can buy new games for those but want a main present for about £50.

Any ideas?

Does he like lego (DS is lego mad)

Thegoddessblossom · 17/09/2012 14:54

Haven't decided on a main present for mine yet either but so far I have got him:

the Ultimate band Wii game (amazon, less than £2)
a mister maker craft kit
a "drum kit" - not a real one, £6, hard to explain, looks like a desk top you have to tap for noise
Some Horrid Henry books
A bubble rocket
build monopoly

BeaWheesht · 17/09/2012 19:14

I don't know if this will be any use to you but ds will be getting ....

Batman toys
Vintage star wars vehicle
He wants bakugan but I'm not keen
Ditto Moshi monsters
Football goals for the garden
A garage

BeaWheesht · 17/09/2012 19:15

Goddess - I think I know the kind of drum thin you mean - could you link to one or tell me the make please?

Thegoddessblossom · 17/09/2012 19:35

Let me look....

Thegoddessblossom · 17/09/2012 19:38

This is it

ceebeegeebies · 17/09/2012 21:16

Thanks for all the suggestions so far (hey Bloss Grin)

But they are not really hitting the spot - he does have lego but rarely plays with it (basically DH builds whatever it was meant to be using the instructions, he plays with it for 5 minutes, destroys it and the pieces just end up in the big lego box ). Anything remotely requiring imagination is just a waste of time (I speak from experience)...I persevered with such things when he was younger but it clearly is pointless.

Thanks goddess! Just found a bakugan starter set on there too at half price

Thegoddessblossom · 17/09/2012 22:10

Hey cbgbs!! Didn't clock it was u as OP! Xx

Neither of mine play Lego either. I recycle all the Lego they get from others for their birthdays.

SavoyCabbage · 17/09/2012 22:12

What about more art/craft related stuff? Or science? My dd doesn't like imagination toys either. It's tricky.

FayKnights · 17/09/2012 22:13

How about a nerf 2 player set? It come with 2 vests, sticky bullets, 2 nerf guns and goggles.

Virgil · 17/09/2012 22:17

Bike? Scooter? Basketball net? Cricket bat? Stomp rocket? Mobilo? Zoobs?

BeaWheesht · 17/09/2012 23:21

Genuine question- what does he do with his spare time them? Sorry am finding it hard to imagine what he'd like As my ds spends most of his life in an imaginary world!

ceebeegeebies · 18/09/2012 06:56

Good question beawheesht Grin

He is sports-obsessed and will play football or cricket for hours outside (as long as DH is playing with him. Other than that he will play on his 3ds or Wii or watch tv. He also loves collecting things such as Moshi Monsters and will spend time organising and categorising them - he has this strange habit of categorising EVERYTHING In his head! He is not keen on riding his bike but will play on his scooter for a while. Other than that he likes annoying his brother Wink

I thought his lack of imagination was normal until DS2 came along...he literally lives in fantasy worlds 95% of the time with the rest of us taking part as various characters Grin DS2 is is much easier to buy for...I just get him anything from Imaginext and he is happy!

What about tickets to a football match? A football strip?

Wallace · 18/09/2012 07:33

ds wants skylanders for the wii

peanutMD · 18/09/2012 11:09

My DS has told us all he wants is:

A 3ds xl and Mario and sonic London 2012 and angry birds trilogy for it

a moshie monster tin

MRSJWRTWR · 19/09/2012 11:16

DS2 wants a Huggleuppit Snuggleuppit crocodile - sort of a cross between a blanket and a puppet. Skylanders Giants booster pack for the Wii and a hamster!

accessorizequeen · 19/09/2012 13:58

A digital camera? We're looking at a half guitar for ds2 as well.

jojane · 19/09/2012 14:33

My ds1 is the same, has toys he got last Xmas he has played with about twice!
He already has skylanders for the wii and wants the giants booster pack so will get that plus some extra skylanders figures if your ds hasn't got I already I would highly reccomending it
Big trampoline?

ceebeegeebies · 19/09/2012 21:37

What is this Skylanders thing then? Is it different from a normal computer game??

OP posts:
DowagersHump · 19/09/2012 21:42

I have got DS Skylanders Spyros for the wii and the bag thing that you can keep them in. Then he can get other skylanders from other members of the family.

It's an adventure game with little plastic figures that you put on a plastic playing platform. What's cool is that the wii (or ps or whatever) can tell which figure you have on the platform. Plus you can swap the figures between systems so if your friend has a ps, he can bring his figures round to your house and vice versa.

The3Bears · 22/09/2012 15:31

My ds has also asked for skylanders so he will be getting that, you can get skylanders giants starter set for £36 on the wii at sainsburys theres a 20% off code on the website :) I ordered it yesterday, big saving really as its £60 everywhere else.

SharonGless · 22/09/2012 17:52

Moshi monsters have just brought our super Moshi hq here there is also a house.

WeAllHaveWings · 22/09/2012 19:26
