DP and I are taking advantage of DS not really understanding Christmas by getting him a few things at a nearly new sale, but our families have started asking what to get him.

For his birthday FIL got a bit overexcited and bought some lovely but age inappropriate toys for him (a marching drum and a toy horse which is almost the same size as DS!) so I was wondering if anyone could recommend things which their DC enjoyed at the same age which are readily available from Argos as the PIL don't do online shopping!

Thank you :)

Dd will be 1.1 at christmas and dneice 18m. I will be getting them.both an Aquadraw, and dd will also get a Happyland cottage and a couple of wooden jigsaws and books.

Ill also pull out any next size clothes bought but currently unworn and wrap them up plus her winter coat and a pair of wellies found in the sale (all unused by us before christmas).

Plate cup.and bowl in a Mr Men character plus the matching book. Hungry caterpillar toothbrush and toothpaste plus the matching book.

The little cottage is her main present, got a bargain from ELC website, was maybe £12

Toy garage and car mats are on our 2yr old son's list for christmas. The surprise hit over the summer was a Trunki! He just loves filling it and pushing it and emptying it again and sitting on it.

Aquadraw is a good idea
Wooden train set
Duplo/Megabloks
A little fold up slide? (if you have room indoors, ours lives inside over winter and outside in summer)

Second the Aquadraw idea - also, my DS is just 20mo and is getting into simple puzzles, and loves some chunky crayons and paper

Wooden train set! It will give him years of joy if my DS is anything to go by.

We got our dd a little chair from argos at that age. It's a little plastic chair with a desk attached with a lamp and book on it. It is musical with loads of little things to push which make sounds etc. She loved it. It's about £35 i think.

Yes to happyland. My DD is 18mo and loves stickers - she's obsessed (they're very cheap too!). She also has some plastic/wooden fruit which she also loves playing with. Books are always a winner this one is a firm favourite in our house as is duplo.
