No grotto at Selfridges this year...

...in case anyone was interested. I just rang them to ask when tickets would go on sale (as I have missed out on Harrods) and was told they won't be having one this year. No reason given. Oh well, there we go.

missed out on Harrods! Blimey, some people are very organised.

Does John Lewis have one?

No kitten, not at all!!! A friend just emailed me to say she'd booked Harrods grotto tickets and sent me the link - when I clicked on it a banner came up saying tickets were sold out for the whole of December and all November weekends, that's how I know!!

Honestly it would never have entered my head otherwise. But it did inspire me to ring Selfridges, so I suppose I did make a small effort towards being organised.

Don't think it's JL style somehow.

Actually don't think it's DS's style either.... Grin

I always went to the John Lewis grotto as a child. I can't remember if I liked it or not.

take me away from this Christmasy thread, I haven't even had a proper summer :)

To be honest I'm. Not surprised about selfridges. Went last year and was thoroughly disappointed and we weren't the only ones! Was a group sitting with father Christmas rather than seeing him individually and was very impersonal. Father Christmas was pointy and saying" you child, what's your name" then looking at his list. Harrods is fab but is now done on a sliding scale of how much you spend there! So the people who spend the most get first dibs and by the time the commeners (me!) can get on there all of December weekends and most weekdays have gone!!
