Pregnant at Christmas

My closest and oldest friend is due to have her ds2 on xmas eve. Her ds1 will be 3 & old enough to understand Christmas. She's hugely into Christmas but is very anxious about this pregnancy as ds1 was born 8 weeks early. She has plenty of family to help with logistics and look after ds1 but I want to help in some way too. I don't want to get in the way, I just want to do something nice and helpful but so far all I can think of is cook meals. Any Christmassy ideas?

Could you offer to help decorate her house with her and do the tree? I was pg last christmas and my DH isn't into decorations so I did it myself but had a friend offered to hang garlands whilst wobbling on a stepladder in exchange for a mince pie and a coffee I'd have jumped at the chance! Sorry, not much of a suggestion really Confused

How about making a gingerbread cottage and then you can help her DS decorate it? There are plenty of templates online. Or cookie Christmas tree decorations? Or how about making her some old fashioned paper chains?

Maybe bake some mince pies or Christmas muffins for her freezer so that when friends pop round to see the new baby she'll have something to feed them?

Was hugely pregnant myself one Christmas (DS born on the 29th) and i just handed all the cooking / decorating over to everyone else.

Maybe offer to babysit her dd for a whole day in November so she can get her Christmas shopping done in case the baby is early again?

Ds sorry

Or alternatively you could take her shopping while family babysit? Save her struggling with heavy bags and turn it into a nice day out (I always find xmas shopping stressful)
