DS is obsessed with superheroes but it's proving difficult to narrow down things that he can play with.
So far I have the idea of doing a box filled with assorted superhero bits.
Ideas:
Figures (started getting some of eBay)
Bedding
Batman dressing up
Superhero squad DVD
Tattoos
Thor's hammer

Any other ideas would be welcome! I'm leaning towards imaginext as we have the batcave but I don't know what the other batman bits are like.

Lego? They have just brought out super hero sets-my ds 4 is obsessed with Lego.

olibeansmummy · 29/08/2012 11:35

Yes to Lego. Ds is 3.3 and obsessed!

SomebodySaveMe · 29/08/2012 11:41

Will the superhero sets be a bit complex? I think I'll definitely get a box of Lego bricks though. Although I might have to stop DP playing with them!

I have the hulk and captain America from the Lego shop, Ds loves them although he can put them together himself but if you buy more than one figure you can mix all the piece together
I'm struggling for things to buy ds this year so will be watchin this thread with interest

Love imaginext. Batman range on there is huge.

My DS is similar age (will be 4 in December) and he also loves superheroes. We are getting more imaginext batman stuff, like Gotham City Jail, as well as Lego Heroes - some avengers, batman, spiderman. Action figures too. There's lots of choice at the moment.

ScottishBritishMNer · 29/08/2012 13:19

My DS is 4 and going through the superhero phase too - batman imaginext stuff on the Christmas list here too.

YY to Lego - DS got a big box of blue bricks and he's started getting really into it. He's also got a vehicle set (something aimed at 4+) which is a really useful add on.

For his 4th birthday he got a maginex set and some playmobil pirate stuff - both huge hits and played with all the time.

Though we haven't got any of the Batman stuff, would like to add my vote for imaginext stuff. Ime it's spot-on for this kind of age.

BeaWheesht · 29/08/2012 22:24

ds is almost 6 and is still loving batman imaginext so id reccommend that

The book people have got spiderman and batman reusable sticker books for £3.99 each. And on the Christmas thread about online deals there is a code to get free delivery from them.

ScottishBritishMNer · 29/08/2012 23:10

Thanks for that littlemissnormal. I've just ordered some along with a few other bargains. I also remembered to go via the top cashback site for a change as well, so will get a wee bit back on my order.

I got one of the 'See inside' range of books to put away for Christmas which was only £3.99 too. I've started collecting these for DS (well a mix of these and Usborne's 'my first encyclopaedia range) to use with 4 year old DS now that he's reached the incessant asking questions about just about everything stage! The couple we have already have been really useful so far.

wontleturuinmylife · 29/08/2012 23:13

My ds will be 4 at Christmas and he too is obsessed with lego hasn't discovered superheroes yet. Will be watching for ideas.

littlemissnormal · 29/08/2012 23:16

I saw those too but had to stop as everytime I go on the site to buy presents and save money I buy loads as its so cheap! Kind of defeats the object!
What's the cashback site?

SomebodySaveMe · 30/08/2012 06:56

littlemissnormal - topcashback.co.uk is a way to get cashback on online purchases. I found out about it on here a while ago. You set up a topcashback account, go to their home page, click on the retailer you want to shop from and then shop as normal. They 'track' the redirections from topcashback and you get a % back. I've used it for the last couple of years and got a fair wee bit of cashback. If you know someone who uses topcashback they can 'refer' you and get a referral fee too. I thought that there must be a catch when I came across it but I've never had any problems with it.

Thanks for the elc batman tip SomebodySaveMe - DS will love that!

littlemissnormal · 30/08/2012 15:48

That sounds good, I buy so much online it might be worth me signing up. Thanks Grin

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 30/08/2012 22:30

Thank you for the ELC code, i got my DS also 4 at Christmas time Hmm the batman suit too! Either for his bday or Xmas. I would say 3/4yrs old are into the superhero things this year, my DS is after the imaginext batman cave and a spiderman scooter.

ScottishBritishMNer · 01/09/2012 09:59

Another thanks for the elc code, I see they've got a new style batman costume now, but was able to get the one that was already reduced and use the code on top. Bargain. DS will be absolutely thrilled to get that!

lauracindy · 01/09/2012 19:34

Another vote for the imaginext batman, cannot review it yet because I have got it for DS1 (3.5years) but I've got him a few sets and it looks so well built! He also has the imaginext drgin fortress last year and it is fantastic structure wise! He's also got some spiderman toys which again also look great, puzzles with DS1 is also a big hit!
