And if so where would I find a pattern? I thought it would be a nice gift for the DDs so they will always have something that was made for them. I prob should put this in art and crafts but I tend to frequent the section Grin

Thousands. I would recommend you get a kit from somewhere like John Lewis. I used to make one and draw around the pieces to make a few more. Illegal, but there are worse things than soft toy fraud IMO.

You could also get a toy making book from the library if you wanted a cheaper option. It has been a long time since I made any though. Been busy making babies and enough money to feed and clothe them. Good luck!

Craft would be a better place for this thread obviously.

I have a lovely bunny pattern big floppy ears floppy legs and arms with a pretty dress. to match.

Sock monkeys are easy as long as you don't put their face in backwards...

Lol at 'soft toy fraud'!!

Never knowingly- that would be brilliant actually! Do I just need to send you my email! Thank you!

I'll have a look in John Lewis as suggested but I'm thinking I want to do something in really funky printed fabric!

Could you use some of their old baby clothes? Or some other sentimental fabric in a patchwork type effect? Like the nightie you wore when you had them kinda thing? I am making a quilt for mine like this (or meant to be).

i know someone who makes them out of your old baby clothes! you send some to her and she makes a soft toy of your choice, she does various diff ones and she can personalise it with a name etc.

they are lovely

go to fb and google chocolate & ginger keepsake bears :)

i would have put a link up but i cant get my mouse to c&p its being a pita!

5madthings · 27/08/2012 21:57

ValiumQueen · 27/08/2012 22:02

They are adorable 5 I bet she quite enjoys making them!

5madthings · 27/08/2012 22:07

they are arent they! tho she has just had a baby so may be a bit busy at the moment! they are lovely and very good price as well for such a unique item :) i am ordering one!

mmmmmchocolate · 27/08/2012 22:19

I have looked at things like that before and they are stunning! Only problem is that I only kept a few outfits from each of my DDs and I didn't keep any babygros otherwise I would get one made for me though, I wouldn't gut it to them Grin

you dont have to send babygrows, if you email her she can tell you what is suitable. i have loads of clothes from when my 5 were little, lots of babygrows they all wore and i love that they have that history of all of them wearing some have even gone to my nephew and then come back to me as well! so i quite like the idea of having something made from them :)

pretty sure you can get patterns online etc or hobbycraft may have kits, john lewis etc, i am not talented enough tho!
