Poundland, superdrug, tesco, elc, amazon, asda (brill for toys) The works. His age he won't need much though will he ?

storminabuttercup · 10/08/2012 22:36

I've just ordered a book for my friends DD from play but dispatched from the works, half the price of amazon and free delivery from play!! Bargain. Will look at the other places thank you. Im just as clueless to be honest. Going to start asking for help for everyone else! Grin

Asda sell busy books, which are a story book with a box behind it that has a play mat and 12 figures for £5. They have Thomas and loads of Disney ones. I've been buying a few of those as stocking fillers for DD/small gift for friend's DC.

DD is 2 and she has the Mickey mouse one and loves it.

And if you catch it right (not that I do) they reduce them to a couple of pounds everynow and then, but to be honest £5 is a good price, they go for £10 new on ebay and Amazon.

Elc is changing Happyland, so they have some of the old sets for half price, if thay are of intrest to any one. The DC won't know they are not the new model and I don't rate the new model to be honest.

what about , bath crayons, magic flannel, toy car , bubbles, choc coins, orange, little top/jimjams , jigsaws, magnetic letters , books, dvds (poundland) magazine (cbeebies)

smellylittleorange · 10/08/2012 22:59

Colouring books / sticker books etc??

trixymalixy · 10/08/2012 23:00

Sainsburys had some major bargains, loads of stuff reduced to under a pound.

Flisspaps · 10/08/2012 23:01

Home Bargains have Thomas cups in at the moment, like a drinking glass with a straw (and a lid!) and a floating Thomas in the bottom of it with some glitter, I got one for 2.4yo DD in the week and she loves it - £1.79!

Flisspaps · 10/08/2012 23:02

They also have a Thomas jigsaw puzzle book for £1.99 - big board book and each page has a jigsaw on it - there's something like 5 of them in the book.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 10/08/2012 23:05

Ebay is your friend.

Get some bits now whilst hardly anyone is thinking about Christmas. It will be much cheaper. :)

smellylittleorange · 10/08/2012 23:05

Ooh that sounds good I remember DD had one of th she loved it was a wallace and grommit one :-D

BeaWheesht · 10/08/2012 23:13

Flisspaps - a jigsaw book? You'll be recommending moonsand next! Wink

dd will be 2y3m at Christmas, dont buy too much imo, theyll be overwhelmed.

storminabuttercup · 11/08/2012 07:01

A jigsaw book, it's great for £2, big pieces and has amused DD for ages.

Not sure why you think I'd be recommending moonsand though, surely everyone knows its crap?!

BeaWheesht · 11/08/2012 09:58

Jigsaw books are the work of the devil but I suppose only in my correct opinion. All the ones we have are jigsaw pieces that are flimsy, get bent and then all fall out.

Just ordered loads of die cast vehicles from model zone they are great prices, will report back on
Quality when they arrive.
