Christmas decorations- what's 'in' this year?

I'm watching QVC Christmas in July (it's on 24th & 25th) and they're doing lights.

Fashions change with decorations (but I don't adhere too much. My decorations are a glorious mish-mash collected over 22 years).
I do themes in different rooms and I vary year to year (gold/bronze in one room, silver/glass in another, traditional Victorian elsewhere).

I've noticed a trend in lights over the years

When I was younger it was coloured lights.
The Millenium Christmas was blue (with silver and lilac)
Then bright white especially the LED
Last year , the golden toned lights were the most displayed.

What's on the horizon for this year. Anyone working in retail, ordering in Christmas stock. You could give us a tiny clue......

Really important to be planning this now. Especially with the weather as it is.

I don't change mine. White lights and Disney decorations. Some vintage, some new etc.

I went to some retail preview shows for work and spotted two trends. 1) fake fur - lovely little fluffy hearts and stockings for the tree in John Lewis 2) crafty decorations that look homemade but aren't eh strings of gingerbread men for the tree that look like cut out paper dolls.

Oooh last year I bought some gorgeous Gingerbread Men from John Lewis. They were made of a hessian material, in a line (like cut out paper dolls) but I snipped their ties to liberate them !

And they were £15 reduced to £7.50 the week before Christmas.

I'm ahead of the game. Yessssss
