I tend to enjoy a sherry, cream, medium dry from the fridge...I'm under 30, the shame!
But then I also enjoy a Baileys, only at Christmas bizarrely.

What do you like so I can shamelessly test them out Grin

Lots of everything, but especially red wine and baileys

bluecheesedip · 21/07/2012 20:34

I was introduced to Snowballs last year - yes, very behind the times - so looking forward to those again!

ChippyMinton · 21/07/2012 20:40

Whiskey, Stones or Crabbies ginger wine, ginger ale. In a crystal tumbler with ice. And a roaring fire.

HermioneE · 21/07/2012 20:41

Champagne! And extremely dry white wine.

I am practically sobbing already at the thought of a pregnant and hence virtually nonalcoholic Christmas... I think only having a bit of champers might be worse than having none at all... Envy Sad

msrantsalot · 21/07/2012 20:41

Baileys (ltr bottles)

seabuckthorn · 21/07/2012 20:45

Ooh a snowball! Now I like one of those!
I will add Crabbies to the list but due to my main craving in my last pregnancy for ginger beer I am still a tad off anything gingery and sparkling. Darn that boy Grin

I am also a Christmas sherry drinker seabuckthorn and under 30 too. I love sherry - it is Christmas in a glass. My next door neighbour got me into it when I was about 18 and I popped round to see her Christmas Eve and she poured me around 6 measures of it in a tumbler! Mmmmm....sherry and mince pies.

I also love Champagne and Mint Baileys, but will always go back to the sherry. I sympathise with the pregnant at Christmas HermioneE. I was pregnant at Christmas two years ago and had gestational diabetes as well, so couldn't even console myself with chocolate - it was sad.

GaryTankCommander · 21/07/2012 20:49

It's got to be Baileys on lots of ice at Christmas for me.

seabuckthorn · 21/07/2012 20:50

Is it wrong I already have my bottle of baileys ready for Christmas.
I did Christmas pregnant it for reason wasn't that bad. I did make up for it last Christmas though

thewalkingdead I am adopting you as my sherry drinking companion. I even have a sherry glass now.
I'm glad Baileys seems a wise choice.
I'm tempted by these Christmas cocktails but really I don't know if I could be bothered.

I'm not a drinker IRL (last time was two and a half years ago and that was my leftover Baileys from the Christmas Grin )

I sometimes buy a £5 bottle or the minis and I might/might not drink them.

Mainly I worry in case someone takes ill and I have to take them to hospital (DH doesn't drive and I'd be singing "FairtyTale of New York after licking a cork). I'm too mean to pay for a taxi Blush.

Hermoine we can be TeeTotal in virtual togetherness.
It will be worth it for being pregnant. Wink

TheWalkingDead · 21/07/2012 21:01

I don't have a sherry glass, but I once ordered one in a pub (I don't really know why, but it seemed a good idea after a few too many drinks) and I was most impressed at the lovely little glass! Should I buy one so that we can quaff in an elegant manner at Christmas time?

And I really would love to make a Christmas cocktail, but every time I read the list of ingredients I feel a bit tired - sherry is so easy: Open, pour, drink. I don't know if I can do with the faff of a cocktail.

seabuckthorn · 21/07/2012 21:35

Oh definitely get a glass thewalkingdead so we can quaff! I agree about cocktails, sherry is a keeper :)
