DC1 is going to be 11 and although he still likes alot of the llittle toys etc I put in his and his sisters stockings, I feel he is getting bored and isnt really getting any value out of them (not money wise, but stuff he can use/play with for a while)

SO what do you put in there and still keep to a stocking budget (someone suggested Itunes vouchers which is fine but at £15 minimum I dont call that a 'cheap' stocking filler)

We do the pads/pencils etc as standard

Cheers

What about dvd's I can pick up DVD's in Morrisons for £3.00 they make great happy day gifts and stocking fillers, and the older movies are unlikely to have been seen by 11 year olds.

We have always put useful things in stockings as well as toys so how about socks, shower gel, hair stuff, deodorant (must need plenty of that!) and some nice food plus dvds, pack of cards or a game, mini kite, key ring, nice pens, water bombs/rocket balloons?

my ds is 12 yo - into X Box , not really sport or music.
Last year we did the Christmas Eve Hampers and the stockings.

I found as they get older the presents get more expensive but alot smaller. So the stocking is a good way to 'pad' the present pile out and give DH and I some peace on Christmas morning Grin

We gave him : from

Hawkins Bazaar- buzzing spider keyring
holograme bookmark
mini tape measure
'snaps' (you throw them and they pop
I-Spy books

The Range- mini jigsaw
torch keyring

Lindt chocolate reindeer
dinosaur Top Trumps style cards
puff paint
dinosaur model to paint
Game Points for X-Box

My DS has discovered Lynx shower gel
I forgot to add on my list I bought him a Soap on a Rope in the shape of a duck -grapefruit scented from TKMaxx.

So he'll get some Lynx and bodyspray type smellies this year.

I want nice, useable/useful bits that don't cost loads (mainly £3 and under) .These things you need to buy when you see.
Stomping round the Poundshop when I'm carrying 4-5 bags doesn't work. <img loading="lazy" class="inline-flex mumsnet-emoji" alt="Wink" src="https://www.mumsnet.com/build/assets/wink-ClU7UaDM.png">
