I have tons of fantastic tea towels and looking through have seen a design that would be perfect for virtually every friend and family member, so will I be the sad old person that buys tea towels or is it a good idea?

I like the cat one. Not sure I would be dead keen on getting it as a present though. I quite like the idea of baking something and using the teatowel to wrap it.

I like a new tea towel, and would like it as a present.

Tea towels are a very useful and welcome present! Especially if slightly more fancy than the 3 in a pack plain kind as people are less likely to buy them for themselves.

i would also like a new teatowel....but I think our family has it right...we don't do presents for adults unless the adults are single!

THis means I buy my Mum and brother a gift as Mum is widowed and DB is single....but I don't buy for my sisters and their DHs and they don't buy for me and my DH.

It's a bit silly buying gifts for adults when people are struggling finacially.

The two grandmothers are getting one each from Toddler -- he's going to do hand prints and drawing on them. Grandmothers will love them, mostly because they are made by Toddler. MiL will probably use hers because she uses tea towels. My Mom probably won't (because she's not a tea towel sort of woman) but will keep it hanging in the kitchen near the oven gloves so she'll see it and smile thinking about Toddler (my parents are in the States, so have pictures and drawings up all over the house of/made by their only grandchild).

you are so right about the cakes, I wondered about making jam or chutney or something to go wth the tea towel, or christmas cookies or something, carmen will be utilised in some way. :) we dont spend on adults either so it is just a token pressie. I would like to strat being organised then I dont havve to spend a lot in one go.
