starjules · 12/07/2012 21:24

Argos also has the happyland things in the sale Ive just bought the cottage there!

yellowflowers · 13/07/2012 08:21

Olympic Lego mini figures are £1.99 in Argos!!

TwoJackRussellsandababy · 13/07/2012 16:41

I've got our panto tickets and a couple of things for xmas, little man will be just over one so doubt he'll really get it...

fuzzpig · 14/07/2012 20:01

Here'll we've been looking at more Xmas toys. DD has decided she loves daleks! They had a proper one at a science fair in town and she asked to watch the very unscary old movies. She cried when the daleks died! So we are looking at little mini figures, I may get the actual doctor figures for DH! But it won't be for ages just in case DD changes her mind.

I bought my husband's present in April Blush

But then again its an Omega Seamaster watch that he's wanted since I've known him (8 years - well, the exact one has changed but he's wanted a seamaster for a very long time) and it was on special offer for the first time ever, and it was 1250 quid OFF.

I'm too nice to him Grin

He's not having anything else though. Unless we don't go back to the UK for christmas cos otherwise he'll have nothing at all to open on Christmas Day and that'll be sad.

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend · 16/07/2012 10:54

Wow Bertrude, your husband will be very happy on christmas day!

I was in Tesco yesterday and they had dolls with a carrycot and accessories (spare outfit and play food I think) for £5. Picked one up for dd, think I'll put it in with her birthday stuff as I've bought her the play cot, highchair etc. Also got the Hello Kitty art box mentioned above for £5, will be great for rainy days :)

I'm not buying any christmas presents but I'm shopping for birthdays so will keep coming on to see what bargains you're all getting and hopefully get some ideas :)

Ordered a couple more gifts from ELC last night, using the 20% off code CROCODILE.

I have also started a list of what I have bought, ideas for things to buy and ideas to tell people who ask what to get her.

I really want to avoid her ending up with piles and piles of stuff this year - I bought too much last year after starting relatively early but not keeping a list and forgetting how much I already had. I also want to try to encourage people not to get her piles of stuff - my mum and ILs are a nightmare for getting huge amounts of stuff that just end up taking up space and aren't really used. I am hoping to encourage them to pay towards things like swimming / ballet lessons etc.

Elainey1609 · 19/07/2012 13:22

I started mine in last month, mainly online, all the big summer sales seem to be early this year think due to the rain.
but got some great bits for all the family.
Its deffo the stocking bits that ive been getting.....and all the family agrred this year that we dont mind second hand gifts just as we cant afford the new stuff.
so bought a wii game, which was pre owend for £3 in stead of £15 and tried it out at home and works perfect so im very happy.......they all add up.

if anyone has any good discount if freebee sites let me know

yellowflowers · 19/07/2012 13:44

Anyone know where to get cheap but nice stockings? I think I might make some friends stockings this year.

Elainey1609 · 19/07/2012 13:46

I got mine online last year, searched around and actually got them from e-bay....the nices stockings ive ever brought......they were only £1.50 each with free postage

seabuckthorn · 19/07/2012 15:37

I am so late to this Christmas party!
I'm planning on being done by the start of November as I'll have a newborn by December!
I bought my first Christmas present today- an out of print book called' a letter to father Christmas' . It's adorable!
I've got an amazon wish list and I'm going to get a couple of bits each month. I have a box to keep it all in as well.
I'm so excited, I'm waiting for all the autumn winter catalogues to come out.
The weather is meant to be warming up next week, I'm a tiny bit sad as it makes me look mad being ridiculously excited about Christmas.

starjules · 19/07/2012 16:36

I am so excited already! Just got a huge delivery today of all my pfb Christmas things. It's worth looking on the entertainer website. I've just got most of my friends kids presents from there, they have a huge plastercine kit for £5 instead of £15 and those ninja hamsters for £3. Need to find somewhere to store it all now!

seabuckthorn · 19/07/2012 19:47

Where are you buying Xmas pj's if you are doing it?
I would like some red/festive ones for my under 3's.

buzzgirly · 19/07/2012 20:02

yelowflowers you can personalised stockings/Santa sacks on 24studio website, they're too expensive. And if you use order code 006 it's free delivery.

I was on the book people website today, it's great. I got a Julia Donaldson 10 book set for £9.99. There were loads of other great offers.

fuzzpig · 19/07/2012 21:15

Boots often do nice Xmas jammies - they aren't kept with the clothes, but (in our bigger store at least) are part of the gift section.

OhTheConfusion · 19/07/2012 21:33

Wow, I am so excited... other people love christmas as much as I do!

MissBetseyTrotwood · 19/07/2012 21:49

We got some woolly stockings from IKEA - not dear at all as far as I remember.

starjules · 20/07/2012 07:55

If you find kirstys handmade christmas on 4od she makes some lovely Christmas stockings and really easy too. I made them for all the family last year.

GnocchiNineDoors · 21/07/2012 00:08

I po into Aldi today and they have in some Fuzzy Felt type things, but large, maybe nearly A3 size. Around £3, and they had Space, Jungle, Wedding, Sleepover, Wizard of Oz and Police themed ones. I got the Wizard of Oz one and if DD isnt ready for it by this christmas Ill keep it for the next one.

Great quality too!

Also got her a Little Miss Sunshine bowl and plate from Asda on cheap and will get her the book and a matching knife fork spoon as a little gift set.

GnocchiNineDoors · 21/07/2012 00:09

popped not po
