I am not so worried I spent too much on mine! I feel I've been sensible. I spent what I could afford, I did not get into debt and my children have nice things that they will appreciate.

Some of the photos I could not believe though - entire living rooms filled with presents for 2 children!!

I don't mean to sound smug, just thinking aloud really.

I agree it's vulgar and the people who've done it on my FB are definitely the most materialistic and also post frequent status updates about their new expensive bedroom furniture, the designer clothes they got for their birthdays, always accompanied by a picture! I don't necessarily dislike them for it (accept that's the way they are) But I do think it's tasteless.

Each to their own. Our under tree presents looked impressive but we have 5 DC and the gifts included a box of balloons for the youngest so it looked huge but cost £1. DS1 got an "expereince" gift but we put that in a box with a stuffed toy to represent the expereince so again it looked big.

I think it's nice to see pictures of everyones gifts under the tree - I think it's more of a "calm before the storm" photo than a "look how much we've got" photo.
