i was in sainsburys today and some shelves were empty like the chicken stock area and the smoked salmon area. however one of the workers did say theyve got plenty in and will be restocked for tomorrow.
i was just wondering if anyone still had to do it and if so what time tomorrow?
i dont want to be a mad women setting the alarm for 6am when im off but if thats what people need to do then ill do it. cant remember what i did last year. ideally id go in for 9.30/10am.
thanks!

DH is there at the moment...

LynetteScavo · 22/12/2011 22:23

With children about 9.30am. Or if I wait for DH to come home early afternoon.

I'm going to have to go with DC, aren't I?

Got a delivery coming tomorrow, but guaranteed there will be items missing and I'll have to do the dreaded Xmas Eve shop Shock

mrsmplus3 · 22/12/2011 22:28

i tried to book a slot but i was too late.

im just to calm down. everything will be there im sure. worst case would be that i would need to try other supermarkets for certain items and theres always christmas eve too.

lets chill!

Delivery tomorrow morning (bookedat the beginning of October) then we will be walking down to get extra bits, nothing would make me take the car down there at the moment! If I had to do it all I would go as early as possible without the DC.....

ggirl · 22/12/2011 22:43

dh did it this evening...phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yourefired · 22/12/2011 22:44

Yes tomorrow. Will saunter down to m&s and take what's there. Dry goods already bought so just veg, bread and a turkey. Panic not, I have faith that all those clever graduates employed by the big retailers will have been working til 10pm for months now on operation sell Christmas dinner. They will have attended meetings entitled project sprout and had to produce position papers on condiments. Thanks guys, you took one for team Christmas.

Dropped DC at DMs. Got last parking space in Sainsbos carpark.

Couldn't get down some isles they were so busy. But I did get some sort of salmon terrine thing, so won't have to make one.

There was a random woman wandering the isles smiling and saying "Christmas shopping is very stressful, you are doing very well, keep going , they say it's stressful, but your doing a great job, keep smiling etc to anyone who would listen. I think she actually might have been employed by Sainsburys to calm people down.

LordOfTheFlies · 23/12/2011 14:24

I just need to send DH out to the shops ponce down to Tesco Metro and Greggs for bread (French and unsliced white) and any veg we don't have.

And milk
And probably beer
And Ferrero Roche so that I can do the Pyramid Thing

Greggs will be open won't it?

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 23/12/2011 14:27

yup - going tomorrow with dd1 (4.9) and dd2 (1.1)
it's always fine if you get there before 10

I am more concerned about the fate of the Christmas joint though. DH is collecting a 28 day aged organic rib of beef from the butchers, and then going straight down the pub with it work after. I don't care if he doesn't make it home, but that beef better be tucked up safely tonight.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/12/2011 14:36

We went this morning: it was fine. But I had the worst cup of coffee EVER in the Sainsbo's coffee shop.

LissTheSeasonLouBeJollie · 23/12/2011 14:49

just got back, weve had torrential rain here, and it was grim. just asda shop now, being delivered tonight.
