Share a toy for a tenner or split it into two fivers?

FIL is going to put a tenner in dp's bank account tomorrow for our dc's so we can get them something to open from him. Do you reckon we ought to get them something to share (almost5yo and almost 2yo btw and play together with most things anyway), or something each for fiver?

Something each

I was heading in that direction, dp is leaning towards something bigger between them

You could get a lot of craft stuff for them to share for £10.

Ooh, the thought of dd2 getting near anything crafty scares the life outa me! Grin She's a tad destructive at the moment to say the least, very boistrous

But then again, she's happy with pritt stick and some paper to stick.....may not be a bad idea

You could get ten packs of bits n bobs for them to colour and glue and make lovely pictures, from the poundshop, and it would look like a LOAD Xmas Grin

Mine are the same age and generally play together too. I looked at some games in ELC, which are in the sale and I thought they might both enjoy. There was one that looked like a plastic Jenga that seemed suitable for both.

But equally, you can get lots of nice stuff for £5 each.

I think the mountain of colouring & sticking bits and bobs from Poundland is the winner. Will send dp tomorrow to see if he sees anything they may share but pritt sticks and paper are always a winner & mean a good couple of hours peace in this house
