Getting out the Pandoro (Italian Christmas sponge with a lights dusting of powdered sugar) and a Panettone...mmm...plus loads of coffee to keep me going as I cook, before the wine comes out...Xmas Grin

We used to have eggs benedict before we had children but now if they don't get a proper porridge/cereal toast brekkie in them they are foul and miserable before the presents are even unwrapped!

CaipirinhasAllRound · 22/12/2011 17:09

we normally have scrambled egg and either bacon or salmon on toasted muffins but this year I'm doing french toast, maple syrup and crispy bacon
and lots of bucks fizz!

OhYouBadBadReindeer · 22/12/2011 17:10

we are having smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Though Cake sounds easier!

MrsTwinks · 22/12/2011 17:10

are we related? same exactly, with the added bucks fizz and/or belinis

101North · 22/12/2011 17:11

a fine hot cup of festive breakfast baileys for me thanks (hic) Wink

CroissantNeuf · 22/12/2011 17:12

Usually something quick, easy and fairly light that we don't have every day eg. croissant or a brioche loaf that we make in the bread machine.

Theres so much to prepare and eat later that we can't be doing with faffing around too much.

OhYouBadBadReindeer · 22/12/2011 17:14

hmmm, bucks fizz sounds nice. Sadly though I have vowed that I have finished shopping and we have no bubbly stuff.

mammanetta · 22/12/2011 17:18

mmm to scrambled eggs and anything salmony...or bacon related...bloody good idea...though DD doesn't eat salmon or bacon - she can have a boiled egg I guess and us 2 can have the rest.
may have to try a festive hot baileys - sounds divine!
maybe when DD is older and we sleep past 8am on Christmas or any other sodding morning, I will neck a bellini too - though I think I may be a bit pished by 9am and not be able to cook lunch if I did that now Xmas Grin

Croissants and cheese on Christmas Day

Halloumi sandwiches with cranberry sauce on Boxing Day. Possibly the best bit of Christmas.

No booze til dinnertime as I am a lightweight!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/12/2011 17:33

We have croissants and other pastries, plus fruit.

Bagels, cream cheese and smoked salmon with a glass of Bucks Fizz usually
but I'm adding halloumi to my shopping list now!
getting DP a panini press, might try using that Xmas Grin

2kidsintow · 22/12/2011 18:37

Bacon sandwiches cooked by my DH is order of the day usually, but I don't always fancy them so I've bought some pain au chocolat for me this year....imagine my kids will have both.

CherrysOnTheNaughtyList · 22/12/2011 19:17

well normally scrambled duck eggs on toast, and croissants and pain au chocolat. this year we are having fruit salad instead of the scrambled eggs on toast. with lashing of posh coffee and christmas tea, and bucks fizz.

pigleychez · 22/12/2011 19:28

We are having Pain au Chocolat! Any excuse for chocolate for breakfast :)

I did notice very empty Croissant shelves in Sainsbury's this morning.

Goolash · 22/12/2011 19:39

English muffin with poached egg and mushrooms.

OliNIvy · 22/12/2011 19:40

Warm croissants this year. I get the part bake ones. Lovely jubbly!

cairnterrier · 22/12/2011 19:41

We always used to have smoked salmon and scrambled eggs washed down with Buck's Fizz. DS is allergic to eggs and fish and I'm pregnant. Might rethink the menu.

Xmas Grin
OtterBaubles · 22/12/2011 19:41

Buck's fizz and a selection box.

toddlerama · 22/12/2011 19:43

Pain au chocolat this year. Always something different though really. A terry's chocolate orange as a starter of course.

makemineapinot · 22/12/2011 19:44

kids just want cookie crisps this year Xmas Hmm I am still deciding whether to have bacon roll or smaoked salmon n scrambled egg... decisions decisions.... Got the stuff in for both so will be ok! Don't think I'll succumb to cookie crisps though Xmas Grin

LoopyLoopsWoopDeWoops · 22/12/2011 19:46

Hot croissants with bacon and mushroom, and sausage and mozzarella. mmm
