waitrose used to do those funky little frozen ones that you stick in the oven but ran out weeks ago , so no croissants for us :( unless, of course croissantneuf fancies sending us some over from her BREAD MAKER Xmas Envy

An iced ginger bread figure and a cup of tea.Blush That's what I've had since I was a child. I hate eating breakfast.

We,my family,I've no children yet, do have some form of cooked lunch though.

Breakfast. :)

Late dinner.

pointydog · 22/12/2011 20:50

I love Christmas breakfast, probably because I never have to make the main meal.

Fruit salad (melon, mango, grape, orange), home-made pancakes or eggy bread with crispy streaky bacon and maple syrup.

SantaffetaClaus · 22/12/2011 20:54

Those funky little frozen croissants from Waitrose ( I only bought mine a week or so ago, plenty about round here ), and dippy eggs.

Dippy eggs is an old family tradition. lines the stomach for all the fizz before lunch

mammanetta · 22/12/2011 20:55

Fruit salad...you see pointy, that's the kind of healthy addition I keep meaning to well, add, to our, but never quite pull my finger out.
Maybe we'll have freshly squeezed OJ for us and DD, but add shot of something to ours :)
Must buy some streaky bacon Xmas Shock

Wow I need to try french toast, maple syrup and crispy bacon!

TheAnnoyingSatsuma · 22/12/2011 21:00

I just bought a shedload of mini croissants in our local tesco. And yummy apricot jam. And part-baked baguettes and bacon. Oh and fresh OJ.

Forgot the coffee though. Doh.

Gapants · 22/12/2011 21:00

Breakfast burritos- Lush.

We eat all day. Breakfast at 9am, liveners at 12ish, starter at 2ish, turkey at 5ish, pudding at 7ish, cheeses at 9 ish, nibbles till you pass out.

BetterTogether · 22/12/2011 21:05

We buy the part-bake frozen croissants and pain au chocolats from Waitrose - feels more special than a normal breakfast, but requires no more effort than listening out for the oven timer while we start opening presents. Plus lots of coffee for me, but that's an everyday occurence Xmas Wink

BetterTogether · 22/12/2011 21:06

Ooops, just seen the frozen pastries issue mammanetta and santaffeta. Our Waitrose had frozen pain au chocolats this afternoon, but was out of the croissants.

SantaffetaClaus · 22/12/2011 21:07

mammanetta - Kent Xmas Grin

My parents always did dippy eggs. We used to go to a family friend's party every Christmas Day at 12 and the punch served there had minimal non alcoholic ingreds. My sister fell asleep in the turkey one year. Hence the need to line the stomach adequately prior to attendance. Xmas Grin

My parents are staying with us this year, just spoke to my mum:"Are you sure you've enough eggs, dear? I can bring some etc"

TysTheSeasonToBeJolly · 22/12/2011 21:09

Taff I have lost the art of my eggs remaining runny, they are either not cooked or hard boiled Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin

SantaffetaClaus · 22/12/2011 21:09

Ty - 5 minutes exactly from the second the water is boiling

CupOfGoodCheer · 22/12/2011 21:09

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast.

Or Cornflakes, depending on when you get up....

CupOfGoodCheer · 22/12/2011 21:12

Gapants that sounds like heaven....

TysTheSeasonToBeJolly · 22/12/2011 21:16

Thanks Taff you bloody brilliant chef Xmas Grin

thegirlwithnoname · 22/12/2011 21:26

Porridge or Eggs on Toast. I have one rule on Christmas Day, a decent breakfast must be eaten, and then the kids can eat as little or as much as they want.

culturevulture · 22/12/2011 21:32

We always have pain au chocolat and croissants, orange juice for the children and bucks fizz or bellinis for dh and I

mrsmplus3 · 22/12/2011 21:35

just bought our christmas breakfast today. cinnamon and raisin bagels (plain ones for the kids), fresh fruit salad, fresh orange juice and fresh coffee for the coffee machine. did i mention it was all fresh???
cant wait to have a relaxing breakfast before the cooking has to start at 10am.

AnnoyingOrange · 22/12/2011 21:38

Ours various from year to year. One of my favourites was maple syrup on pancakes with mixed berries and cream.

But then we had to have a late lunch Smile

Popbiscuit · 22/12/2011 21:41

Made from-scratch cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. They are a pain in the arse to make as there are all sorts of complicated and unnecessary steps but they are TO. DIE. FOR.

That's what I look forward to most on Christmas morning as I will only eat one once a year. There's about 2 lbs. of butter/sugar/white carbs contained within.
