Doing my christmas shop tonight in a rush- what do I need?

Ds has been sick for a week so I have not been able to get out. My mum has just told me she can babysit tonight so I can do myfood shop but I don't have my Christmas head on - I'm making a list. What am I likely to forget that I'll need? I'm having Christmas dinner for 3 of us Christmas Day and then a family one on Boxing Day. I have got as far as Turkey and Fairy Liquid.

My shopping list:
Turkey
Sausages
Stuffing mix
Gravy (notoriously bad at making it from scratch)
Potatoes
Carrots, parsnips, Brussel sprouts
Pâté
Soup ingredients
Christmas pudding
Cream
Alcohol and mixer
Cheese selection, oat biscuits and crackers
Nuts and crisps for nibbles.
Extra essentials for visitors -tea, coffee, sugar, milk, toilet roll
Curry paste to make left of turkey curry on boxing day
Rice
Nan bread.
I'm going for six and expecting people to drop by so you probably won't need as many nibbles.

Thanks curiosity- I'm copying your list out furiously. I'd forgotten about cheese and biscuits and things like that. I am rubbish at shopping without a list. What condiments do you have with Turkey? See I can't even remember that - I am totally frazzled.

Cranberry sauce.

albertswearingen · 22/12/2011 16:54

Of course- I am being a total numpty. To be fair I think I'm coming down with ds's lurgy.

My mum makes bread sauce and mil has given me homemade cranberry sauce.

Oh, I have chutney in the house to have with the cheese.

Don't get stressed. Whatever you end up with will be fine. People end up spending a fortune impulse buying.

Don't forget foil for the turkey

albertswearingen · 22/12/2011 17:02

Chutney is a good call. Foil has reminded me a need a new large roasting tin.
