Anyone else got an ill household at the moment?

This time of year we are always ill, last year dp had proper flu for the 2 wks before Christmas & I started off with it Christmas Eve. This year the kids had a stomach bug sun/mon, this comes after weeks of chickenpox & coughs & colds. I thought I had escaped it as was ok but then dp started with it last night. Now I'm paranoid I will get it & have so much to do. Present buying almost done, just vouchers to get but only two presents wrapped up. Was going to bake lots of goodies as small gifts but don;t think anyone will want them due to the lurgy. So some people won't be getting much.Am stressing big time now. Anyone else?

awwww, that sounds miserable. Hopefully you wont get it, but not baking for people is probably a kindness.

Grin OhYouBadBad!

I would put the baking on the back burner, so to speak, and just do what you can while getting some rest.

This happened to us one year and I did a special Hogmanay dinner instead with New Year presents and decorations. It was very nice, and everybody understood that Chez LineRunner was under the weather.

We have (well not me, yet, but everyone else)! I really wanted to go visiting my friends with kids tomorrow but would hate to infect them all jsut before Christmas

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/12/2011 17:31

Me! Everybody else okay thus far (fingers crossed) but I have a horrid cold which started within about an hour of me breaking up from work on Friday and which doesn't seem to want to go away. Just hope that dp and the girls don't get it.

Get well soon everybody.

DD2 has been throwing up for Britain since last night. Four carpets, the bed and DHs slippers so far. I dont cope with it; Ive had to phone him twice to come home from places and god love him he is my hero, he has cleaned the whole lot without complaining once, slept in the living room with her last night too.

She has just woken and is looking a bit brighter, she is asking for toast, Im scared to feed the poor child because he has gone to work. Fingers crossed noone else takes it, or Christmas is officially being cancelled.

Yep Sad

DS (20m) has had 4/5 sleepless nights, snotty/cough/throwing up combo and today doc prescribed antibiotics for an ear infection Sad

Hopefully they'll kick in before Christmas day tho! Grin

Yes. DD2 and DH seem better now but me and DD1 have just got a round of antibiotics I'm hoping will see us improved by the 25th. Every sodding year. Xmas Sad

I have been ill for over a month, had a cold, then had a flu bug with high temp for a fortnight, better for four days, then tonsillitis for almost a week, and now a bad cold. Poor ds had the same, except this current cold. It has really messed with what should have been a straightforward preparation with the older ones in school, and younger one too young to notice. Just hope everyone better for sunday.

Dd had a 24 hr vomitting bug on saturday morning until Sunday while ds2 had conjunctivitis. Today ds2 has been vomitting so I'm hoping that no-one else is ill during christmas.

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 22/12/2011 23:27

yes all ill, full of cold, i feel like crap and poor ds is as pale as a sheet, hoping all better by saturday, fingers crossed Xmas Sad

It's awful being ill this time of year isn't it. Well I have got the dreaded bug, seem to have it mild compared to everyone else, just feeling very sick, stomach pains & very achey today. Just hope no one else gets it, that's all of us have had it now but my parents have hired a cottage nearby over christmas & I would hate them to get it. I think adults are much less likely to pass it on & the kids have been better since mon night. Just got to get the dettol out again & clean everywhere.

I've been I'll for about a month and had a very short spell in hospital where I think I picked up a vomiting bug. Weirdly I didn't have it myself but passed it to ds1 ds2 and dp. I've had to do tonnes of washing to clear up the mess. Now everything is settling down I have a headache which I think is heralding a cold.
