Cottage pie instead of turkey for dinner

I live with my 3 DDs (10, 3 and 1) but no DP. I have had a viral throat infection since Monday evening which is making it difficult to eat and therefore I am very tired!

The younger 2 DDs don't really eat very much so I would mainly be cooking for myself and DD1. I have been thinking that I might cook they turkey crown I bought on new years day, maybe invite my parents as it supposed to feed 5 - 7 people, and just do cottage pie and veg instead.

Does that sound like a better plan?

Cook whatever you want on Christmas day. Dh says his favourite Christmas meal was a year when it was just us and the dc and we just had bangers & mash!

But now we live near my IL's, we have to go through the whole proper formal roast but since dd doesnt eat it, I'm making her a mini lasagne.

Hate all the pressure - do what you want & enjoy!

I think it sounds a great plan. There are no rules that you have to eat turkey on the 25th December :)

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks I would hate to go to all the trouble of a full roast and then it not be eaten!

I am having steak and kidney pie, so I think cottage pie is great!
