Oh bollox I threw dc's presents away

Didn't realise dh had put their gifts to eachother in a seperate bag and left it on floor. Thought it was rubbish :-( was computer game, papo dinosaur and rainmaker :-(( so pissed off with myself. Bins went on Monday too. Arse arse arse

DP threw out my engagement ring before he gave it to me house insurance paid out for it [money would not come until after Christmas but might help with the over spend now]

Bugger, you don't need that. However last week nearly did the same. Paid through the nose for a bit of rare Lego on ebay which arrived in plain brown paper. Obviously I confused it with all the empty brown paper boxes and stuff because I spotted it a week later outside at the bottom of the recycling bin!
Luckily, I am a lazy cow and hadn't put the bin out that morning (only half full) but it was a close thing. Have no idea what you can do about it either. I do feel for you.

Think I'm going to have to suck it up. I'm just a fexking idiot for not checking properly. Nothing I can do about it now. Stropped at dh but not his fault.

I did this last year, in fact have just been through all the bags to double check, it is irritating to say the least. I also blamed dh but actually wasn't his fault either

Awen I can imagine how this must feel, but best thing to do - is FORGET ABOUT IT. We all throw money away in some way of another, whether it's a parking ticket, £20 note dropping out of your pocket, buying an expensive toy that NEVER gets played with......so it's just one of those times. I realise it's not a good time to lose money but the way I always look at that is this time next year, that lost money won't mean anything and won't have made any difference in the long run.

Thank you for sympathy. It's just damned annoying as I remember tutting at dh about leaving bag of rubbish behind the door and he didn't click and put rubbish out as normal. I even asked where lids gifts were so they could wrap them for eachother and got non committal grunt. Ah well, nothing I can do really. Dh going to shops tomoz to replace rainmaker and have resorted other presents so the ther 2 gifts swapped with dr who screwdriver and a film for psp. Just loved other gifts more. Dinosaur wasn't cheap either. Altogether was around £35ish which I can swallow, it's the thought and time taken which irks me. Sleep now while I can. X
