Adults will be having smoked salmon and prawns which DCs don't like.

Need to make a starter that keeps them busy but doesn't fill them up too much!

TIA

grapes and melon balls?

Fairyloo · 21/12/2011 18:12

Fruit salad

Wafer thin ham and cheese slices cut into shapes with a mini Christmas cutter. So that it can be plated in the same way as the salmon and prawns.

What would I do without MN!! Thanks

I came to say melon too, or pineapple chunks, which must be from a "big fat tin" and must have a scrupulously equal share of the juice from said tin in a little shot glass at the side of the dish Xmas Grin

pom what are you talking about???

A little fruit salad in a cocktail glass (or get coloured plastic ones for 99p from Tesco if they're not sold out).

Sounds lovely pom but honestly, try some fresh pineapple, it knocks spots off the tinned stuff. Bloody gorgeous.

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDoom · 22/12/2011 21:26

We do, but the DCs hate it fresh, they say it's bitter and won't eat it Confused They adore the tinned stuff - probably because they only get it every so often as a "Special Treat" for a party tea or occasion. They want the "big fat tin" every time... is raising Philistines

In the end I did a fruit salad with "ham stars" and it went down a bloody treat!

Kept them busy but didn't fill them up, thanx all and a Happy New YearWine
